D6 Mitchells Plain FC

Our club focuses on youth football development with age groups from u7 to u18. We play our league football in the Two Oceans (City Stream) LFA. District Six FC is based on the slopes of Devils Peak. The club currently consists of under 12, 14, 16 and 18 age groups. The club plays its amateur football in Cape Town Football Association, which operates under the umbrella of the Hanover Park LFA. The

club has been successful on and off the field, providing players with support and matchday meals whilst picking up honours along the short journey of existence. We draw on our talent from the schools league which incorporates players not only from District Six but the wider area of Cape Town and this has been a key driving factor into our short term success. Recently, we have expanded, and the club has secured a second home venue, securing strategic partnerships with Rocklands High School and Raising Pros Soccer School. Staying true to our mission of working closely with schools. Our collaboration with Rocklands High School is based on ensuring our players receive a great education along with best football training that is available to them. With our current blue-print we will continue operating in the amateur league but also enter into the Two Oceans LFA (City Stream) which features opposition clubs such as Cape Town City FC, Stellenbosch FC and Ubuntu Football Academy to mention a few. Our Vision is to harness Cape Town’s youth in developing the incredible raw talent our city has to offer, and ultimately realise the potential and help turn Cape Town into a powerhouse of international talent. In turn giving young Capetonians the opportunities, support and guidance to build a career in the sport along with travelling the world. We aim to accomplish this by bridging the gap between school and club football. We believe that grass roots football should be nurtured at schools. A child shouldn’t have to leave school to play sport at a club, they should have the option of playing sports for their school. We believe we have the perfect melting pot of talent, with a base near Cape Town CBD, coupled with a base in Rocklands, Mitchells Plein, we can build the best youth football establishment in Cape Town. In doing so, we will secure a solid foundation to allow for future growth for our professional club.
