The Combat Pit Series at The Club House

The Combat Pit Series at The Club House The Combat Pit Series at The Club House is a medieval combat tournament series in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, using IMCF, HMB and WMFC rulesets.

The Combat Pit Series was created in 2015 in order to offer a chance for newer fighters to test themselves against each other under tournament conditions. This year, we are fighting to the three internationally accepted rulesets for full contact medieval combat, and introducing a leaderboard. This tournament series is open to all fighters across the country, to make it a national tournament series.

Some great fun was had last Sunday at Combat Pit. We fought with polearm using the IMCF ruleset. No serious injuries, and our fighters all enjoyed a satisfying crayon or two after the rounds.

Oir next Combat Pit tournament will be held on 23 June, and will feature quadrathlon. That is, sword and shield, sword and buckler, longsword and polearm in one match.

This will take place at The Club House in Camperdown. If it is warm weather, bring a costume for afterwards or over lunch, as there is a pool. If it is raining, there is shelter under which we will train.
