Make your clients feel special
If somebody books a studio Les say at 12:00 then before 11:45 somebody else shows up and wants to record ..DO NOT ALLOW THEM kindly tell them that you have a session at 12 .they should come after or book for another day .

Unless the booked client feels comfortable with having people around when they work ,.you should not allow anyone to just walk in your sessions.

Let me make an example with Mercedes Benz x class ..
That car is just navara with a Benz name

And it did affect the sales of that becuse people were not prepared to by an expensive bakkie when you can buy the same bakkie with a Nissan badge for a cheaper price

So I wanted my music to sound like everyone else's music and by doing that I neglected what had in me.

I played N95 by kendrik Lamar and played. Float freestyle by nose ..they all sound the same. The low ends are the same 😭😭😭
I played All my life by emtee and some songs 8 mixed .they did sound the same . sonically

2020 I produced Float freestyle..that was a very special sing because nose challenged me to try lofi and I ended up making a new fusion of lofi and trap in one song abd it was fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥but the song came out and I didn't like it because it was different

Nose and czar recorded "away " they both likexit and I didn't becuse it was different

2019 I mixed the best song in terms of balancing and mastering
But I had doubts I thought it has to much low end .I campare it to some songs I like locally.

Beat: this is one of the most misunderstood element in music
A simple open beat can make you a good song if you understand that your voice is also an instrument
You can have a simple melody,kick ,snare,hi hat and bass . without the need of adding a counter melody,rims rims percs ,pads and vocal chops .

We,ll use maleboo as an example here ..most of his beats are open and simple ..but once he adds his voice everything changes .it becomes a song .

We producers tend to flex sometimes by adding slides ,dark sounds .making a beat sound full .but honestly we do that mostly when we want you to hear what we are capable of.we even go as far as making the beat sound full and loud .
In such beats it,s impossible to add lead vocal and harmonies including adlips ..and headroom becomes a problem..you will be forced to mix your vocal according to how the beat sounds..so this limits your creativity.but most of us learnt mixing vocals on downloaded and loud beats. So it,s hard when you get a more open beat
