The hip joint:
• The hip joint is a ball-and-socket joint that allows motion and gives stability on the daily when bearing your body’s weight.
• Due to the hip bearing all the body’s weight, it is most likely to develop arthritis.

The knee joint is a complex joint that has to absorb and transmit forces through the lower extremities while being weight-bearing.

Common causes of knee pain:
• Injuries on the ligaments, cartilage or tendons around and in the joint. This can take place while practicing a sport, accidents of some sort, or busy everyday living activities.
• Arthritis - caused by genetics, age, weight and/or previous injuries.
• Mechanical problems - caused by overuse, underlying injuries or wear and tear.

A biokineticist can provide guidance with exercises to ensure healthy knees.
