BLAAUPAN WINTER CARP CLASSIC 2026 ! 🏆
The frosty mornings and icy cold evenings bring only one thought to mind, The Blaaupan Winter Carp Classic!
Yes! You heard right! Its defenitely that time of the year again and we're extremely excited to announce that this year, we intend on doing the Blaaupan Winter Carp Classic bigger and better than ever before!
The Blaaupan winter carp classic will take place over a series of 8 Competitions , 2 semi finals, a losers final and then the ultimate grand finale.
Heres how it works :
Every competition will consist of 8 teams, 2 anglers per team which gives us 16 anglers per weekend,
The first 8 competitions will be our qualifier rounds where only the top 2 teams from each weekend will make it through to the knockout rounds , or rather, semi finals.
The 16 teams that qualify for knock outs will then fish against each other in the semi finals where from the 8 teams fishing in each semi final, only the top 4 teams will go through to the ultimate round of winners, the grand finale where all our top class anglers will battle it out in true old Blaaupan Winter Carp Classic style for a shot at the grand title and beyond awesome prizes up for grabs!
But wait..
Thats not all !
This year, we intend on throwing a wild card in the mix!
A Tagged Carp!
We'll catch a carp, video, measure, weigh and document it and then carefully tag and release it back into Blaaupan dam!
Catch that carp on the comp and you've got yourself a one way ticket straight through to the next round as well as a spot prize right there and then!
If you're lucky enough to catch the tagged fish on a random day out of the comp at Blaaupan dam , we urge you to please be a sport, take a picture, send it to us and release the fish safely!
Everyone has a chance to win, as long as you've got a hook in the water, you've got a chance! 🎣
