๐Explanation for Carolineโs Fundraiser๐
Caroline has been bravely fighting cancer and undergoing intensive treatment, including chemotherapy. As many of you know, chemotherapy can be extremely harsh on the body, it weakens the immune system, leaving her vulnerable to illness, and brings a host of side effects such as nausea, exhaustion, and painful mouth sores. It is truly not an easy journey.
Beyond the physical toll, cancer often steals parts of what makes us feel like ourselves, especially as women. Hair loss, skin changes, and other visible effects can deeply affect oneโs confidence and sense of beauty. Unfortunately, the aesthetic aspects of recovery, things like wigs, skincare, and tailored prosthetics are not covered by medical aid, and they are often very costly. These may seem like small things, but they play an enormous role in emotional and psychological healing.
Caroline, being a single mom and the sole provider for her family, would never put her own needs above her childrenโs. Yet those personal aspects of recovery matter deeply. They help restore dignity, confidence, and the feeling of being whole again.
Through it all, Caroline has remained incredibly positive, even when we know the struggle must be so much harder than she lets on. Her courage, grace, and determination to live fully, despite everything, have been an inspiration to everyone around her.
This fundraiser is our way of giving back, to help cover something Caroline would never prioritize for herself, but which could make her journey just a little gentler. Itโs an opportunity to remind her how loved and appreciated she is, and to give back some of the light she has shared with so many of us.๐
