A Message from Global Champions EMP

We celebrate the incredible success of Jimmy's Cup Soccer, Netball and Golden Games Tournament held on 27-28 June 2026 at Mbongweni Sports Field.

Theme: Let The Youth Shine

To every team, player, coach, referee, parent, sponsor, and supporter who made this event possible — thank you. Your passion, discipline, and sportsmanship brought the theme "Let The Youth Shine" to life.

Watching our Youth U21 athletes compete with heart, respect the game, and lift each other up reminded us why we do this work. From the first whistle to the final trophy, you showed us the beginning of a new tradition for Our Youth.

To the champions, runners up, and individual award winners: congratulations. To every club that entered: thank you for trusting us with your talent.

At Global Champions EMP, our mission is to build platforms where young people can shine. Jimmy’s Cup proved that when a community comes together, we don’t just host a tournament — we create opportunities for the youth to shine.

INVITATION TO PROFESSIONAL CLUBS & SCOUTS

The Jimmy's Cup U21 Tournament is calling.

Our mission is clear: To produce fresh talent fit to successfully compete at professional level and beyond.

This event is hosted in a community where many good people were born and raised.
The likes of Mama Winnie Madikizela-Mandela, OR Tambo, Mputhumi Mafumbatha, and the heroes of the 1960 Nonqulwane war between AmaMpondo and the apartheid regime.

Over the years, our community has produced top quality talent.
But due to lack of resources, that talent went for nothing.
After went for nothing, there was no platform.
With Jimmy's Cup, we wish to change that history for good.

This year we hosted 16 Football Clubs and 4 Netball Clubs.
For the next edition, we are aiming to host 32 teams per code.

We respectfully invite KasiSports Foundation SA Spear of the Nation Football Club FC Ravens Sinenkani FC Bizana Pondo City Football Club Milford Football Club Chippa United Football Club Kasi 2 Kasi - Scout Africa. and scouts from across South Africa to be part of our next edition.

Your presence on the sidelines is what we are looking forward to.
We would be honored and pleased to have you come scout the next generation of U21 talent.

We are also looking forward to sending you a private letter of invitation.

Venue: Mbongweni Sports Field, Bizana
Date: Every last weekend of June, annually until further notice
Age Group: Under 21 | Football & Netball

This is more than a tournament. This is where character, discipline, and talent meet.

WHY R350 FOR FOOTBALL & R250 FOR NETBALL?

We set these fees with purpose.

We understand that many clubs in our community lack financial assistance.
We wanted a fee that is affordable for everyone — even a club with players that relies on an SRD grant should be able to pay and take part.

Jimmy's Cup is not about making profit.
It’s about making sure no talented team is left behind because of money.

For the next edition, we have no intention of increasing the registration fee.
Our goal is to keep this tournament accessible to all.

WHY UNDER 21?

This is the age where most young people face the hardest gap:
After matric, many find no school and no job.

With too much unused time, some end up making choices they regret.

Jimmy's Cup U21 exists to give them another path.
To take the talent they have and turn it into something good.
Something that could one day put bread on the table for their families.

We’re not just running a tournament.
We’re giving youth direction, discipline, and hope.

ABOUT US

WHO IS JIMMY?

Jimmy B. Madikizela was the late father of the brand founder and sole owner.

He was:
- Raised by his grandmother, who taught him love, respect, and faith
- A son of Mbongweni and the surrounding communities, where he lived most of his life
- He did travel to other places due to work, school, church, and family duties
- A traffic officer in the late 1970s
- An amazing school teacher in the 1980s
- A proud football lover — a complete player in his youth
- A devoted family man who loved his relatives more than words can describe
- A community leader most of his life
- He overcame drugs addiction in 1995, and began attending church
- A devoted pastor in the 2000s, later crowned Archbishop on 30 October 2021

But above all, this is what defined Jimmy:
His intelligence, his ability to find solutions in the midst of chaos,
and that he was quick to react, and even quicker to forgive and forget in less time.

In this world, men like him are one in a million.

Jimmy passed away on 20 December 2022.

WHY THE TOURNAMENT IS NAMED AFTER JIMMY?
Because his love for football matched his love for community and family.
He always wanted to leave a positive impact on everyone he met.

OUR AIM
To change the lives of the youth in our community for the better through sport and South African culture.
Our focus is to produce fresh talent that is fit to successfully compete at professional level and beyond through the Jimmy's Cup U21 Tournament.

What we wish for this Jimmy's Cup community is to love and respect each other beyond measure,
just like the example set by Mr Jimmy B. Madikizela.
