What really happens at the Cape Epic?
At our recent Cape Epic Evening, we heard incredible stories from riders who have experienced the highs, lows, challenges and triumphs of the world's toughest mountain bike stage race.
A huge thank you to Tony, Jacques, Rouxda, Ty, Jo and Solly for sharing their journeys with our community.
For us, the most powerful reminder came through Solly's story reminding us that small local businesses create opportunities that help riders like him reach the Cape Epic and come agonisingly close to winning the Exxaro category.
It reminded us that cycling is about so much more than bikes.
Every rider who supports Concept Cyclery, every customer who chooses to support local cycling businesses, and every person who contributes to growing our cycling community helps create opportunities for the next generation.
That's what Concept Cyclery has always been about.
Building community. Creating opportunities. Changing lives through cycling.
As we listened to these stories, we couldn't help but think that this is exactly the legacy Burry would have wanted to see continue.
And who knows? After hearing the inspiration, advice and lessons shared on the night, we hope to see a few future Cape Epic 2027 finishers sitting in that audience.
