I felt like an imposter even after
After 17 years of practicing yoga
Over 10k hours of teaching
Having written my own yoga training, anatomy manual and training teachers
I thought “I need to get more educated to be better for my students. To finally feel qualified and enough.”
It’s only when I started to work on healing my insecure attachment style is that this 👇🏽 truth became glaringly obvious.
Perfectionism stands in the way of connection.
I worked on being perfect because I felt ashamed of who I was.
The thing that I thought would bring me confidence to connect with my students was driving me in the opposite direction.
Working on my attachment style helped me to:
• feel more secure in who I am
• process my emotions so I feel more balanced and able to connect
• embrace my vulnerability, imperfections and humanness
Embracing my humanness and vulnerability made me more authentic.
It helped people connect with me not because I was perfect but because I was me.
But before I could get there I had to stop thinking that my healing would come from another yoga training or healing modality and learn about what it means to be human and how to BE WITH others in this beautiful and messy experience without the mask of perfection.
Maybe you don’t need another training.
Maybe you need a safe space to get in touch with and express parts of you who were silenced for so long that they didn’t even know they had a voice.
Maybe acceptance is your next growth edge?
If you’d like to work on healing your attachment and becoming more secure I am running a donation based Become Secure course on the app I’ve created to rewire the brain. Feel free to comment Secure below and I’ll send you the details.
Big Love
