the MOST asked question I’ve had:
“did they say how it happened??” 🫠
no, and tbh I don’t think there is a true clear answer in this case. it’s not a point of impact type of injury, it’s not a stress fracture in my foot or lower leg from impact with the ground. femoral neck stress injuries/fractures are occurring on the largest single bone in your body, and so it’s complicated.
you could argue all the repetitive impact, but that’s not super likely. usually when it’s affecting a bone this large it comes down to nutrition and fueling. and I do feel that this was part of the problem. we also can look at calcium and vitamin d deficiencies. I had slightly low vitamin d levels, so also part of the problem.
I will say that my body protected itself for as long as it could lol, and I’m thankful that I listened to it when it gave me signs that something wasn’t right. I had a deep gut feeling I could be dealing with a stress fracture, and sure as s**t, I was in the verge of developing one 😮💨
