⚠️ Baltic Open WTA International 2020 is cancelled due to COVID-19

Following the announcement of the suspension till July 31 the WTA events in Bastad, Lausanne, Bucharest, and Jurmala scheduled for July will not be held, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Baltic Open team regrets that this year we can not gather the professionals and tennis lovers in Jurmala. We hope you keep safe and healthy and follow all needed measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

See you in 2021!

Турнир Baltic Open WTA International в 2020 году отменен из-за пандемии COVID-19

WTA сделала официальное заявление о том, что продлит приостановку женского теннисного тура до конца июля из-за пандемии коронавируса.
Турниры в Бостаде (челленджер), Лозанне (13-19 июля), Бухаресте (13-19 июля) и Юрмале (20-26 июля), которые должны были состояться в июле, отменены.

Команда турнира Baltic Open сожалеет, что в этом году мы не сможем собрать профессионалов и любителей тенниса в Юрмале. Мы надеемся, что вы заботитесь о своем здоровье и соблюдаете все необходимые меры для нераспространения коронавируса.

Увидимся в 2021!

The runner-up of Baltic Open 2019 Katarzyna Kawa from Poland commented on her performance in the finals of the tournament and shared her future goals.
"I think it was a pretty close match and anyone could win it. Anastasia won today, but I hope I will get better and better from such matches and will experience them again soon.

TROPHY STAYS IN LATVIA: SEVASTOVA IS THE CHAMPION OF BALTIC OPEN 2019

The top-seed of the tournament the Latvian Anastasija Sevastova proved her status of the favorite. In the finals she managed to turn the tide and beat the winner of the qualification Katarzina Kawa from Poland – 3/6, 7/5, 6/4. The match lasted 2 h 10 mins. The Larvian made 4 aces and none double faults and Kawa fired 1 ace and made three double faults.

It is the 4th WTA title in career for Sevastova, the final of the Jurnala tournamentis the best career result for 26-year-old player from Poland.
