The Abu Dhabi Falcons Football Club was established in 2007 when a group of Australian expats decided to get together to play footy. The inaugural Falcons meeting was undertaken at the Captains Arms, and the first hit out for the boys was part of a nine-a-side tournament held in Dubai. In 2008, the Abu Dhabi Falcons, along the Dubai Dingoes joined the newly established AFL Middle East to become th

e 3rd and 4th clubs in the league. In March 2011 the Falcons culminated an unbeaten season by winning their first premiership against the Doha Kangaroos. Dubbed the Falcons after Abu Dhabi’s favourite pastime Falconry, the club have been proudly supported since it’s inauguration by Etihad Airways as well as the loyal group of Australian, Irish and American expats located in the Emirate. The club continues to play in the AFL Middle East league and welcomes anyone (player or volunteer) who is interested in becoming involved. Competitive nine-a-side games are played on rugby pitches approximately every 4 weeks during the cooler months. From September to March the team trains on Monday nights at the Zayed Sports City and welcomes newcomers of all skill levels and backgrounds - we have a number of lads with rugby and Gaelic football experience. It's been a long time between game day, to long between boat races, but today the falcons took flight again. Proud of everyone that played and helped reignite AFL Middle East. We're back and the legends that wore the falcons Guernsey today with pride, are part of the club for life. That's aussie rules football. 2016 AFL GF, spotted a bloke wearing a Swans Top and got to work on recruiting him. After plenty of darts, beers and games of pool we convinced him to come and have a kick.
The Big Rig didn't disappoint on and off the field. Always up for a laugh and a big green can he became a club favourite very quickly.
Not many can claim to be an international footballer, but Plugga can and in the process take the biggest grab they have ever seen in Croatia.
Sadly this Falcon has just flown the nest to Brissy. He and will be sorely missed by the Falcons Family, we wish them all the best for their next adventure and remember
get around him, the kid can play and a great addition off the field.

Great News! The ZSC Academy cycling club powered by Gulf Multi Sport is back. This course starts the 17th June (7pm) and runs for 4 weeks. With sessions for 12yrs - 16yrs and another for 16yrs upwards, this course is perfect for the non rider or those that might want a little more confidence. Today the Falcons Family are hurting, our beloved Lyd will be laid to rest back in her home town of Wakefield, after recently losing her battle with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). Lyd was one of those rare angels who made you a better person for knowing her. A pure heart who never had a bad word to say about anyone, always had a smile and time for people, loved pub quizzes, karaoke, beer pong and party with her friends (although seeing her curled up on a chair or lounge asleep during a night out was not uncommon with the music pumping 🤣🤗) as much as a quiet night on the couch.
Lyd fought a truly inspiring battle and even through the darkest times her positive mindset and gorgous smile were never far away.
Lyd loved her English soaps and gossip magazines, and she kept the fake tan companies in business for years.
Never one to take herself too serious, she had no issues taking the mickey out of herself either.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Stu (Sticksy), Caroline and the whole Carfrae and Brohaska families, the Falcons family are always here for you all.
Lyd will be forever in our hearts.
Today, hug your loved ones and tell them you love them and please raise one of Lyd's favourite drinks: French 75, Hendricks Gin & Tonic (with cucumber) or a chilled Sauvignon Blanc and honor our beautiful friend and remember how blessed we are for knowing one of God's true angels.
