SA Rogaining Association Rogaining is a treasure hunt like no other. It’s an adventure strategy sport combining navigation & bushwalking. SA Rogaining is volunteer-run & not for profit.

We provide the location, teams choose their own route, pace, and adventure. Rogaining is the sport of long distance cross-country navigation in which teams of two to five members visit hidden checkpoints within a defined time period. Teams travel entirely on foot, navigating by map and compass between checkpoints in terrain that varies from open farmland to hilly forest. A central base camp (the "

Hash House") provides hot meals throughout the event and teams may return at any time to eat, rest or sleep. Teams travel at their own pace and anyone from children to grandparents can experience the personal satisfaction that comes from cross-country navigation at their own level of competition and comfort. One feature of rogaining is the opportunity for night navigation and the extra challenges that this involves. The classic rogaine is a 24 hour event, but there are also shorter events durations of 3, 4, 6, 8 and 12 hours in the SA rogaining calendar.

Controls are going out and excitement is building for tomorrow’s Warripari Wandering 3/6hr spring rogaine!

The sun is shining and the setters are saying it’s pretty warm out on course. Please remember to bring sun and snake safety gear, including:
- hats
- sunscreen
- long pants or gaiters
- 2x compression bandages per team
- sufficient drinking water for before, during and after the event
- electrolytes if needed

There is very little shade at the Hash House for planning, so come prepared!

If you’re driving to the event please check the parking signs, along Beaconsfield road in particular - the eastern half is parking on one side only and council does patrol the area. Also a reminder that the oval is out of bounds, please be respectful of this and not walk across it.

Maps for the 6hr event start at 10am, and 12:30pm for the 3hr event. See you out there!

SA Rogaining would like to acknowledge the recent passing of Colin Corbett.

Colin was valued and long standing member of the rogaining community. Since retiring he, along with his wife Joy, regularly volunteered at rogaines, staying on site for days afterwards to help clean up and collect those awkward remaining controls. His contribution to the sport will be missed.

Colin‘s funeral service is on Friday 28 August 2026 at 1:00pm in the Main Chapel of Berry's Funeral Home, 204 Magill Road, Norwood. Friends and family are invited to attend.

Are you ready for our next event? The Warripari Wandering 3hr/6hr rogaine is just around the corner!

Set in Sturt Gorge, a hidden nook between the leafy suburbs of Adelaide’s inner south-west, this rogaine will have you exploring both craggy hills and residential streets. Yes, hills - there is very little flat ground in this event! The Sturt River and Magpie Creek are thundering cascades after the recent downpours, providing an atmospheric backdrop. You’ll travel past resident sulphur-crested cockatoos and yellow-tail black cockatoos, mobs of kangaroos and koalas in the trees.

What a weekend at O’Laddie for the 15hr roving rogaine! The sub-zero overnight temperatures didn’t freeze our competitors in their tracks, with over 50 teams navigating the rolling green hills.

Congratulations to everyone who took part! It was a triumph of grit over cold, some difficult navigation, and long grass perfectly engineered to hide ankle-twisting rocks.

As always, our heartfelt thanks to the volunteers who make these events happen.
