Lots of pesky bears in the Barker area at this time. Have reports of problems at Hanks, Dieters and Corner. At corner there was a Mama and 2 cubs and a juvenile that were very persistent and would not leave. Be cautious out there!!

Stopped in at the Montreal River @ Hwy 2 yesterday. The portage could use some work with a chainsaw but the river is flowing. Watch out for sweepers on the river from all the burn, likely lots of trees fallen. The old loop is not so private anymore...

Vita, one of our guides, is smiling wide because the whitewater and instructor courses were a blast!
2 weeks of swimming down rapids, dumping canoes to perfect rescue techniques, and doing headstands while surfing waves would make anyone grin!

We have had many successful courses based out of Barker Island in the past week. Thanks .guiding for showing us the swiftwater rescue ropes, and for getting us ready to instruct tandem moving water courses! Thanks Clint and Layne for leading some awesome intro and intermediate whitewater courses.
