WHY SO SLOW? 🐢 The SuperSlow speed of rep is 8-12 seconds, 10 seconds being ideal. We do one set to momentary muscular failure (where you can’t move the weight any more.) Slow, controlled movement, with good form, and slow smooth turnarounds is the essence of SuperSlow. 💪

We desire a slow speed from three perspectives:

🔹First and foremost, a slow speed minimizes acceleration ~ abrupt starting and stopping ~ the source of excessive force and injury.

🔹 Second, slow speed minimizes momentum which undesirably uploads the muscles. Efficient muscular loading is what high-intensity exercise is all about.

🔹Third, slow speed permits concentration and study during movement. When you move quickly, there is no time to actually think through the movement.

Notice my client has a consistent speed of repetition and nice slow, smooth turnarounds. SuperSlow is a very safe, effective, and efficient way to exercise.

Bodle’s is a small, private gym in Highland Park, IL where we do one-on-one personal training following the SuperSlow protocol. During this time, we have established guidelines (including wearing face masks, social distancing, and a limit of 2 workouts per timeslot) to ensure a safe, clean gym environment. I’m not against using drugs or psychotherapy, but I think there is much more that we can do to boost mood -- including anxiety and depression -- by focusing on the foods we eat.⠀⁣⁣

You need to treat the body because the body and brain are one interconnected system. What you do to your body, you do to your brain. Treat your body and you treat your brain. ⠀⁣⁣

When you fix your body, you fix your broken brain.⠀⁣
