Yoga with Ylva

Yoga with Ylva Holistic yoga for anyone wanting to reignite their inner fire, regain energy, focus and playfulness that gives a calm happiness.

Private and group classes available Yoga classes in Wivelsfield, East Sussex and online

For you who want to enjoy moving your body. Ylva teaches a gentle style of yoga and movement. Her knowledge of anatomy and how the body works make the classes perfect for anyone with profound muscle tightness, joint stiffness or other imbalances in the body caused by daily life. She mainly teaches private and

smaller group classes where the focus lies on improving mobility, stabilising joints and increasing energy levels. But the real focus is on a higher quality of life. It is about how we can enjoy living in and with our bodies. "I want to share the joy I’ve found in movement. By guiding you through classes designed with a purpose, using my extensive knowledge of anatomy and how the body works. From the way the blood flows through our muscles to how our nervous system and hormones work and affect us short- and long term. My classes tend to have a slower pace to give enough time for me to explain why we are doing something, and enough time for you to feel and understand it. This gentle exploration of the body will leave you with the knowledge of how to take healthy movement off the mat and into your everyday life, where it will have the biggest effect."

Millions of monies is going into researching if humans could eventually inhabit Mars. And whilst it’s a beautiful red dot in the night sky I reckon it’d be pretty bland to live there. No forests, no sea, grassy slopes, waterfalls or volcanos.
Why would I want that when I’ve got this?

As always thank you, from the very bottom of my heart and soul to those who came to the beach last night for an end of summer celebration.
I had such a fun time trying to talk louder than the wind, laugh at mats flying around, wobble around in tree pose and kick up into handstands, jump the waves in the sea and give all of you squeezy hugs 🥰
This is the best

One of the wildest things about creating wellness events is how everything starts out in my head. Just me and the limits of my imagination. Especially as i run my own business, there are no guidelines or regulations to follow. So when I say “the intention behind this is for us to have a lovely time” that is genuinely what I mean. When I’m sitting at home dreaming up events, that is at the core of every idea. How can we have the loveliest time possible?
To visualise something inside my head and then witness it coming alive in front of me is the truest form of magic. To see the relaxation, presence and joy seep into people’s features, to hear them say “when can we do this again”, “I don’t want to leave”, “what a privilege to experience this”, all from something that was once just a thought in my head.
This mornings Yoga + Brunch was magical. Not because it was extravagant and filled with flare, but the opposite, because it was simple. We moved and connected to our bodies in a nourishing way, we ate real local (partly homegrown and forest foraged), seasonal food, we chatted and we laughed, god did we laugh, and if that wasn’t the most nourishing thing of all.

Held at Hillside Wellness, a beautiful venue nestled into Ashdown Forest, with wonderful views and a wonderfully calming atmosphere.

If the weather is kind, we’ll practice on the purpose-built platform overlooking the forest, with the bell tent there for shelter if needed.

In my ideal world, we’d wake up with time for a cup of tea outside, listen to the birds, watch the squirrels, put our feet in the grass and move our bodies in a way that felt good. We’d then stroll around gathering our friends, sit down together for a leisurely breakfast with several top-ups of tea, and only then go off to do whatever work society requires of us.

Imagine how we’d feel.

Imagine what the world might look like.

For some reason, this isn’t quite reality yet. So I thought we could trial it out.

Move, Eat & Connect.

Friday evenings can feel a little different. 🌿

Instead of rushing into the weekend, what if we softened into it?

Last Friday we gathered at Hillside Wellness beautiful outdoor venue for restorative yoga, sound, and the kind of deep exhale that comes when you finally give yourself permission to stop.

Moving slowly.
Breathing deeply.
Letting the sounds wash over us.
Feeling the earth beneath us and the evening air around us.

No rushing. No achieving. Nothing to tick off the list.

Just space to rest, receive and reconnect — with ourselves, with nature, and with each other.

There’s something special about ending the week this way. A little less doing, a little more being. ✨

I’m here to make Friday evenings a bit more nourishing, healing and a little bit wild. 🌙🌿
