Charles enlisted in the United States Navy on 26 April 1992 till his retirement on 30 April 2012. While in his military career Charles served his country proudly with numerous deployments overseas earning three OIF (Operation Iraqi Freedom) medals and many more totaling to 17 accommodation medals in total during his military career both from the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. Prior to his military time, Charles Conte started racing at the early age of 5 on go carts. Moved to BMX a couple years later and then on to motocross until he obtained his driver’s license at age 16. From that moment on is when Charles started drag racing and then found his love for racing stock cars on the dirt tracks. During his lifetime to date 34 years of it has been dirt racing on and off whenever the opportunity was presented. Charles started out as a crew member and then onto a backup driver a few times during his career. Now retired from the military, Charles decided it was time to permanently home base the race team back in Corpus Christi, TX, and introduce his children and grandchildren into the racing lifestyle that their dad and grandfather grew up in and to teach them everything from: good sportsmanship, great friends, and just how awesome the extended family at the track is. Plus allowing them to witness other drivers, crews and teams working alongside together showing the love and support of racing for which we all love. Currently, we are racing a limited late model and now 2 atv’s and one dirt bike out of our stables. My oldest son Jordan started his racing career at age 7 with BMX. At age 14 Jordan moved up to full size race cars and raced in the Bomber Class which is an entry level stock car. To date Jordan has been racing micro sprints in Oklahoma since 2014. At the start of 2019 Team Conte Racing headed into a different arena and one that isn’t unfamiliar to Charles himself and from his youth. Charles will be racing off-road again but on a grander stage. The team has brought on a full-time racer for the 2019 season with Charles’s youngest brother Kory Ennis. The team had geared up through the winter months in preparation for the very first hare scramble race in January. We couldn’t be more pleased with the direction the entire team is taking on this new endeavor which affords us the ability to also broaden the teams fan base at the same time. We are looking forward to meeting new fans and racers alike along the way. Our biggest, and still the same goal we have always had here within the team, is to make all our fans feel like they are a big part of our racing family.
