🏁 THROWBACK THURSDAYS TO THE EARLY DAYS OF PWC RACING 🏁
Here’s a great piece of personal watercraft racing history from Gaz, who has been involved in the industry and sport since the late 1980s.
Gaz started working at Victorian Jet Skis in 1987 and has been in the PWC industry ever since, selling new and used Sea-Doo, Yamaha and Kawasaki watercraft through various dealerships over the years.
But it wasn’t just the industry Gaz was involved in, he was also a racer.
Gaz started racing in 1987 and continued through to 1994, competing all over Australia and bringing home a number of State Championship titles in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1990 and 1991. 🏆
One of his standout achievements came at the 1990 Australian Surf Championships, where Gaz won the Expert Modified class aboard a Kawasaki 650SX Mariner modified ski.
The photo below was taken at the Cable Ski World on the Gold Coast in 1991, where Gaz had another very successful day, taking out a number of races on the X2. 🏆🔥
From selling PWC to racing them at the highest level, Gaz has been part of the Australian PWC scene for nearly 40 years.
Thanks for sharing the photo and the story, Gaz. It's these stories and photos from the early days that help preserve the history of our sport. 🤙
Cheers Gaz!
