Open the car door…

And somehow your dog already knows exactly where you’re going.

For Milo, the beach doesn’t begin when his paws hit the sand.

It doesn’t even begin when we turn into the carpark.

It starts the moment we leave the driveway.

From that point on, he’s already there.

His body is sitting beside me in the car…

…but his mind is racing along the beach.

This episode made me realise something.

Maybe the walk doesn’t begin at the destination.

Maybe it begins the moment we decide to go.

It’s a story about anticipation, connection, and what one Kelpie taught me about being present long before we arrive.

The tiniest dog in our family…

…and one of the bravest.

When my daughter bought a Chihuahua, I honestly wondered what he could possibly teach someone who’s spent years walking Dobermans and Kelpies.

Turns out…

Quite a lot.

Sometimes courage has nothing to do with size.

Sometimes the smallest characters leave the biggest impression.
