Don’t let social media fool you.

I followed my heart (and worked extremely hard) and launched my online business with none of these things. I had less than 1000 Instagram followers the day my platform went live.

Remember Kayla Itsines began her online debut with a PDF! We all printed that piece of paper off and carried it around the gym floor for years.

My first classes were filmed in my kitchen.

You can absolutely have a flourishing online career without brand deals, a huge following account and a marketing agency.

Should I do a post on what IS worth doing investing in when you begin?!

Top c-section recovery questions answered 👇🏻

1. When can I start compression?
As soon as you’re ready. If you find a compression that suits you, you can begin immediately post-birth. If you’ve had a c-section, make sure it’s not rubbing on your incision.

2. Silicone tap/patches or gel, which is better?
Either is fine. Initially I prefer patches so I’m not having to touch the incision much. After around 4 weeks I prefer to move on to 2 x daily gel.

3. Do I have to wait six weeks to begin rehab?
No, and you shouldn’t! You can do nerve stimulation, pelvic floor experiences, breath work & gentle mobility.

4. When can I start massage?
Generally 6-8 weeks post birth, and make sure your incision is fully sealed. If you had an infection, wait 6-8 weeks post infection.

5. What’s causing my c-section shelf?
Initially swelling. Then often it’s a combination of things; a very restricted scar, extra abdominal fat and abdominal separation. All things that take time, keep up with massage, core work and a healthy nutritious diet.

6. Am I too late?
No! Our connective tissue is a living system that thrives off receiving touch, fresh oxygenated blood, it communicates, it responds to load and is so adaptable!

Any other questions, pop them below, I’m always so happy to answer!

Training and looking after yourself in postpartum is a roller coaster. You can go months and months without feeling any results, let alone seeing results.

There’s something about that 18-month mark 🥹🪄💫

We’re beyond six weeks postpartum, so what now?!

Can we start running yet?
Pick up the dumbbells again?
Do we still keep up rehab?

The answer to that is:
It completely depends on the individual.

Even as someone who considers herself an “okay” runner, I personally couldn’t imagine returning to running in that first year postpartum. That season of recovery holds such a powerful opportunity to heal well, not just heal fast.

At seven weeks postpartum after my third C-section, I was still deeply focused on supporting my abdominal separation, improving tissue quality and strength through my linea alba, and addressing the compensations and stressors left behind by pregnancy and birth.

This week, for example, I worked a lot through Anterior Oblique Sling (AOS) therapy, a myofascial system linking the external oblique, internal oblique, and opposite-side adductor through the abdominal fascia.

Why it matters post c-section & pregnancy:

📌After pregnancy, and especially a c-section birth, the sling’s neuromuscular connection is compromised.
📌Targeted training restores cross-body tension.
📌It can improve stability at the p***c symphysis, alleviating pelvic girdle pain.
📌Rebuilds abdominal separation & structure.
📌Increases integrity & strength after being over lengthened in pregnancy.
📌Plays a key role in rotational power and administering force from the trunk to the limbs.
📌A strengthen AOS system can reduce pain by decreasing pressure off the pelvis.

After a thorough assessment I was cleared to slowly begin strength training and yoga, alongside core rehab with progressive overload to keep stimulating healing & strength.

I love rocking my little girl to sleep but THIS IS HUGE! 17 months later and this chick just decided she wanted to self-settle to sleep after a lifetime of feeding, rocking and cuddling to sleep 😭🥹🥺

Since having baby #3 I’ve been diligently training my core to restore its function and strength again.

I do this in a number of different ways, sometimes it’s rolling my abdominals with a massage ball, sometimes it’s heavy lifting, sometimes pelvic floor softening & breath work.

But without a doubt, I never miss the opportunity for direct core & abdominal work.

I teach a new abs & core focused class every single week and these sessions have helped restore so much strength and function. They’ve also been a HUGE part of healing my diastasis recti.

Which was minimal after birth, but even women with small gaps need to really focus on bringing more strength and tissue density to their linea alba.

Here’s a small preview of what my weekly core sessions look like 👀 Hit save to try a few of these moves 👏🏻
