Dear Round Dance Leader,

We are excited to serve as the Round Dance Vice Chair for the 76th National Square Dance Convention® taking place June 23–26, 2027, in beautiful Loveland, Colorado. We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Round Dance Program and would greatly appreciate your involvement and support. This is a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with long-time friends, meet new dancers from around the world, and help us create an engaging and memorable Phase 2–6 experience for all who attend.

Our committee is preparing a fun and dynamic Round Dance Program featuring Programmed Rounds, Dance Teaches, Clinics, Exhibitions, and After Parties. Your collaboration and participation are essential to making this program a great success. We kindly request that you share the most popular round dances from your area; this information will help us build a well-rounded and engaging program. Also, we would greatly appreciate you sharing the attached flyer with your dancers.

All Dance Leaders must be registered for the Convention and must submit a Dance Leader Profile in order to be scheduled. A registration form is attached for your convenience or use the QR code to access electronic registration.

Once your convention registration has been processed, please submit or update your Dance Leader Profile online through the National Convention Operating System (NCOS). You may update your profile at any time, and you can easily forward it to the appropriate National Square Dance Convention® each year without having to start over from scratch. The NCOS automatically tracks your past attendance and prefills your information for future submissions.

To access your profile, visit https://sdconvention.com and log in or register if you have not done so previously.

Dance Leader Profiles must be submitted electronically by December 31, 2026, to be considered for programming. Profiles submitted after this date will be placed on a waiting list and may not be scheduled. We encourage dance leaders to complete this process as soon as possible.

We anticipate emailing initial schedules by April 1, 2027, with the final schedule going to print no later than April 25, 2027. A mobile app will once again be available, with schedules updated continuously and pushed to all users.

Please indicate any days or times you will be unavailable due to tours, sightseeing, or other commitments. We hope that your plans will include arriving in time for the Round Dance Trail End Dance on Wednesday evening.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

Warm regards,
Peter & Chama Gomez

CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS

Many of you have answered this call for volunteers. There are still opportunities to serve on a Round of the Quarter committee. If you can spare just a couple of hours each quarter, your participation will make a real difference. Please contact Al in the office or Don Brown.

Did you know that our operating procedures call for 40 members to serve on each Round of Quarter Phase Review Committee? Did you know that none of our current phase committees comes close to meeting that goal? On top of that, we typically receive only 70–75% participation each quarter due to prior commitments, illness, computer issues, and, at times, members simply not participating. As a result, we are not giving the evaluation process the thorough review it deserves.

We need your help. And thank you for considering volunteering.

ORGANIZATION CHART
The Org Chart (available at Member Resources) shows which RAL members have stepped up to take on a volunteer role. These volunteer positions are crucial to RAL success. If you have a question about anything ROUNDALAB, please check the Org Chart for the appropriate specialist who can answer your question(s). You may always send your questions to the office, but I’ll likely forward to the appropriate person on the Org Chart.
