Together, let's shine a light on the stories, achievements, and contributions that deserve to be celebrated.

Our Healthy Active Learning team recently came together for our national HAL hui at Ngā Hau e Whā Marae in Ōtautahi.
A special opportunity to connect, learn from one another, share experiences and strengthen our collective commitment to our kaiako, tamariki, kura, whānau and communities across Hawke’s Bay.

A special mihi to our Sydney for sharing her mahi from her Wairoa community with our wider HAL workforce. It’s a privilege to learn from the incredible mahi happening in our communities and bring those stories and learnings together as one workforce.

Mā te kotahitanga e whai kaha ai tātou Through unity, we find strength. šŸ’š

Kēmu Māori in Action at Ōmāhu School šŸ’š

It was awesome to see EIT Hawke's Bay tauira working alongside our kaimahi to bring kēmu Māori to life at Ōmāhu School today, including Kī-o-Rahi, Poi Toa, Tapu Ae, and various Poi Rākau.

These activities provided opportunities for tamariki to be active, build confidence, strengthen connections, and celebrate te ao Māori through movement and play. It was also fantastic to see the tauira developing their leadership skills and creating positive experiences for our young people.

A huge mihi to everyone involved. The excitement from the tamariki, many of whom were already asking when they could come back, was a testament to the impact of the day.

We've just wrapped up the TÅ« Manawa Active Aoteroa Fast Fund round for August and are proud to have been able to support 28 organisations with the amazing mahi they do in our community. So many tamariki and rangatahi in Hawke’s Bay will benefit by having easier access to physical activity, whether it’s sport, active recreation, or play.

Check out the worthy recipients for this round here – https://tinyurl.com/3vdddx8p

Keep your eyes peeled for our next funding round being announced on Tuesday.

One of the amazing organisations we have been able to support is pictured below. Kārearea Outdoor Adventures - KOA. Funding will be used to support Heretaunga and Tamatea Intermediate students for an eight-week outdoor education and adventure activation programme, making use of local parks, reserves and rivers. Sessions include hiking, navigation, bushcraft, outdoor cooking, river safety, problem solving, environmental awareness and team-based active recreation.
