At first, I was not quite sure what was swimming straight towards me.... Have you ever encountered the very rare and critically endangered Bowmouth guitarfish (Rhina ancylostoma)? So imagine how we felt when seeing one cruising over 9 Mile Reef!

Have you been lucky enough to glimpse the shy and reclusive Giant Moray that hangs out on Anton's? Over the years it is often seen in this area and since Giant Morays (Gymnothorax javanicus) live between 6 and 36 years and reach a length of 3m, it must be pretty close to 3m now. It is documented that Giant Morays travel up to 6,400 km to breed, and once done breeding, they die shortly after. Sadly a long journey still awaits our friend on Anton's....
