Good morning all you small footprint home lovers!
Here's something cool for those looking to go tiny but who don't know where to start when it comes to understanding their own personal solar needs.
Sam, my mate, from Sky Energy, has kindly taken time out of his busy schedule to help me put together a guide to calculating solar usage for your home. I figured, with something as important as solar, it would be best to gain information from an expert. Always best to know what you don't know, and let the experts share their knowledge, right?! And do they know their stuff? Heck yeah, they do! These guys supplied me with my own solar panels and have been incredibly supportive all the way through the process. 5 ⭐s all the way from me, and top blokes too.
This guide will give you the basics needed to work out what size system will work best for you and your loved ones, how to calculate your needed battery storage and how you need to think about backup power storage.
I approached Sam years ago to learn about what would be the best systems for tiny homes and requested he collaborate on an education bit for the tiny house community. To my surprise, Sam went away to gain an and understanding of the specific needs of a tiny home and then went to work developing a super cool tiny house solution (Love that!). The product that Sam and his team have created is called SkyBox and SkyBox Mini. SkyBox Mini is a specialised off-grid energy system, that has been designed to be easy to install and easy to uninstall by a licensed electrician. This means you can shift the SkyBox as you require. Cool right?! Hit up the guys at Sky Energy if you would like to know more about the SkyBox Mini and other off-grid solutions.
I'm getting a little off-topic a little. Back to the guide. Click the link below to learn about how to make sure your small footprint home is humming on solar.
