P5! - Brands hatch GP 8 hour - No limits Endurance 👊🔥
Well that was quite a day!! We started off well, qualified in P4, the track started off a little damp but by the last 10 minutes of the session it had pretty much dried up.
We all come to a decision that I would be the one to do the start, seeing as it was my first endurance and that I should do it🤣.
I got to the bike pretty quick but had a big couple of wheelies as I got going🤣 we managed to slot in to P3 and made our way up to P2 by the end of the first stint!
We were right at the sharp end for the first half of the race! With a 25 second gap to 2nd at one point!
Unfortunately there was a red flag and we then had to go from pit lane. In this time the tyres had cooled and unfortunately one of our guys had a crash. We got going again a lap down, I then went back out to try and get some clear laps due to the red flag!
With 3 laps to go on my stint the BMW decided to just die but not cut the engine!😩 I was none the wiser so ran back from the far end of the circuit with the transponder in my leathers!
Turns out that sometimes the Bm’s like to just crash like a computer. All that was needed was for me to take the key out and start the bike back up!😓this cost us valuable time and put us out of the podium positions!👎
We carried on fighting and there was another red flag which meant we were able to get the bike back for a final stint. Determination got us over the line some 6 laps off the leaders,we completed a total of 226 laps.
It was such a massive team effort, loved almost every minute of it, not the long run though!🤣
A big thanks to Bob FWR Ltd for organising the event! We all enjoyed ourselves and gave it 110%!
A massive thanks to everyone who was working the magic behind the scenes, pit boards, fixing bikes, changing tyres, organising the stints and making sure it ran as smoothly as it could have! There was a lot of experience in the team and it definitely showed today!
Hats off to everyone invlolved! Was for sure a dream team! We all rode really well and think the times would have put us near the sharp end, it just wasn’t to be unfortunately! Maybe next time!👊👊🔥
That’s us done for the year now, what a year it’s been. Thanks to everyone who was a part of it!❤️
