Do you know if your body is compensating during an exercise? Do you know if your utilizing the correct muscles during an exercise? Do you know that NOBODY is perfect?
You can clearly see in this video that I don’t keep my shoulders retracted down and that im dominatly using my right side to pull me up. But guess what...for today, I’m happy with my one pull-up because this is the first time I was ever able to actually do a pull-up without assistance of a band. This exercise is a work in progress and it’s going to take some time until I can nail down the form but the important thing is I’M AWARE OF MY BODY AND ITS FORM.
Learning the movement pattern and what muscles you are utilizing during an exercise is one of the most important things you NEED to be aware of when working out. Over time when we are not being cautious of your body in space when performing strenuous exercise and resistance training and continue doing these movements, making them more intense by adding load and our bodies are not engaged properly and in bad alignment it causes these exercise related injuries that a lot of people are suffering from.
Exercise related injuries has become a popular trend in the fitness industry over the past few years, due to just people just trying to burn the most calories they can in a short amount of time and not caring about what form looks like. Guess what most people now have some kind of injury, pain, discomfort, and now may be limited in movement from their everyday activities and or exercise.
