In December I worked with Salve Regina Catholic Academy to create an event called The Champion’s Challenge. ⁣

Over a 4 week period, the students in grades 5-8 had the opportunity to demonstrate to one another and their teachers how they have been putting to use the principals I taught them earlier in the year in my presentation “Living The Champ Up Code”.⁣

5 students from each grade were selected by the staff to be part of the Muay Thai Mindfulness Workshop. ⁣

Not only did they show up ready to learn some elbows and knees, they were completely open to learning breath work and visualization techniques to help them manage their feelings in times of stress and overwhelm.⁣

I’m honored that my brother J Romulo could be there to capture some of the amazing effort and heart the kids put in.⁣

I look forward to bringing this program to more schools and see the ripple effect. ⁣

The goal is to see mentally and physically healthy kids with tons of heart surrounding us.⁣

I had a great time sharing what has built me up and given me strength for the last 30 years with my Muay Thai Mindfulness workshop at Salve Regina Catholic Academy.⁣

20 students from grades 5-8 were nominated by their teachers for living “The Champ Up Code”. ⁣

Over a 6 week period they showed acts of Courage, Nobility, Ownership and the other 5 principals that I taught them a few months ago in my presentation.⁣

I’m proud that my work is not a one and done scenario. I’m privileged to be able to come back and keep connecting with the kids and help them build up their Champion spirit.⁣

We worked on breath work, visualization and plenty of teeps, knees, elbows and punches.⁣

One student shared that she learned that she can try new things and not worry about having to get it right on the first time out- she can keep trying.⁣

In other words- she’s not giving up on herself.⁣

I’m blessed to do this work and I couldn’t be more proud!

“All it takes is heart” is a mantra I’ve lived by since I was an amateur fighter heading off to Thailand back in the day.⁣

I’m blessed to witness that same heart time and time again in the ring from those that step over the top rope to test themselves in battle. ⁣

I, myself, have been saved from my own “heart” so that I would be able to return safely back to my family and loved ones.⁣

Now as a referee, the sole mission is to make sure I do the same for others who are on the journey. ⁣

Fall 7 times, stand up 8.⁣🙏🏽❤️🤛🏽✊🏽. 🎥

📢💃Ahem…calling all 50 year old women who are frustrated and want to stop dieting and feel like they’re old selves again. ⁣

I get it! 🙌⁣

You want it to happen like NOW! ⏱️⁣

And that’s why quick fixes are so dang appealing. ⁣

And building something stronger than that, which takes more time, just doesn’t feel very sexy.💪⁣

But guess what’s really unsexy…and quite heartbreaking. 💔⁣

Starting a diet…doing it for 3 weeks…being unable to sustain it because it was so unrealistic…eating like a mad woman and then feeling like complete ISH! 🙅‍♀️⁣

There’s nothing more defeating than this cycle. 🔄⁣

In the beginning, my clients are scared when I tell them to eat more food. 🍽️⁣

They give me the side eye when I tell them to start paying attention to how they feel when they are eating. 🤨⁣

They all but give me the bird when I tell them to put down their electronics and just focus. 📵⁣

But soon after they are very happy when they are no longer binging a bag of Doritos at night. ⁣

And the change on the scale may happen more slowly… 🐢⁣

But their energy is AMAZING, they feel proud of themselves, they have a clear head and a better feeling gut. 🌟⁣

To me that is priceless. ⁣

That is S.A.S.⁣

Simple 💎 Aligned 💎 Sustainable⁣

There’s so much more to living your best life than the magical number on the scale. 🌈⁣

You are JUST getting started at 50- don’t believe the hype that its all downhill from here! ⁣

🤔💭 I know it’s confusing and you’ve tried so many things.⁣

🥦🍞You’ve probably heard you need to cut out carbs, eat a 1k calorie diet, count your points.⁣

🔄 And some of these things may work, until you can’t keep up with it. And that cycle? It chips away at your confidence and self-trust each time, bit by bit.⁣

🌱Indeed, it’s time to look at a more sustainable approach.⁣

🧠 AND, start honing that 6th sense... self-awareness.⁣

🔍 Start asking yourself the deeper questions:⁣

🍽️ Why do I always feel hungry - what am I really feeling?⁣

😴 What is it that’s really draining my energy?⁣

🍚 Do I even really like these rice cakes?⁣

😂 OK, I actually do like the rice cakes. ⁣

But many of us are out of alignment and trying to force things we don’t like because we heard they would help us blast fat or look ten years younger.⁣

👂 Listen up, friend! I’ve got the secret sauce to get your nutrition feeling AMAZING and SIMPLE… and in true SAS style, SUSTAINABLE!⁣

We’re not defined by a number on our birthday cakes OR on the scale.⁣

We’re defined by our strength, wisdom, and the beauty that comes from living life authentically- yep, that pretty much makes you a boss lady. 💪❤️⁣

As we stride into our 50s, we’re carrying ourselves with the grace of those who know their worth.⁣

Here’s a simple rule I live by: “Never ever let your mood dictate what you do.” 🎯✨ ⁣

Even on those days when motivation seems elusive, we push through and get it done, even if it’s just on our deck! 🏋️‍♀️🏡⁣

Sure, there are times when I don’t really feel like working out, but I know the MAGIC it does for our mental health, and that’s reason enough to make it happen. 🧠💕⁣

So, here are three tips to get moving, no matter what:⁣

1️⃣ Embrace the Power of Habit: Building a regular workout routine can work wonders for our motivation. When it becomes a habit, it’s easier to overcome those moments of resistance. Start small, maybe just a 10-minute movement session per day, and gradually increase the duration. Consistency is key! 💪🚀⁣

2️⃣ Shift Your Mindset: Rather than thinking of exercise as a chore, reframe it as an act of self-love and care. Focus on how good it feels afterward, the boost in mood, and the long-term benefits it brings to your overall well-being. Remember, you’re investing in your health and happiness! 🌈❤️⁣

3️⃣ Find What Sparks Joy: Not every workout needs to leave you doing sweat angels on the mats. Discover activities you genuinely enjoy, whether it’s dancing, hiking, yoga, or even playing a sport. When we engage in movement that bring us joy, we’re more likely to look forward to them and stay consistent. 🎶⁣

Whether it’s for our mental health, our future old lady bodies that will thank us later, or simply to embrace the joy of moving, let’s keep showing up for ourselves, one step at a time. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️⁣

🌟 Yep, YOU can too! 🌟⁣

I’ve been cooking anti-inflammatory, balanced meals since I took my health back three years ago and I’ve never felt better. 💪🍳⁣

I love going out to eat, and figuring out a way to get all of my macros covered with nutrient dense foods, but there’s nothing like the confidence you build when you start slinging the goods at home! 👩‍🍳🌟⁣

Believe me, I used to feel CONFUSED (or as Gio says “confuzzled”)⁣

Legit…dumbfounded. There’s so much conflicting info out there. 🤷‍♀️⁣

- Eat during the moon’s shadow, but only if Mercury is in retrograde! 🌙✨⁣

- Carbs are like Cinderella – after 12 pm, they turn into pumpkin-flavored guilt! 🎃😱⁣

- Combine the lunar calendar with your meal plan to unlock ancient secrets of weight loss! 🔮🍽️⁣

UM- I need simple…listen, most of us need simple. 🤔💡⁣

Which is precisely why I am all about the S.A.S. Life as I enter my 50’s. 🎉💃⁣

Simplicity* Alignment* Sustainability 🗝️✨⁣

If whatever wellness routine you’re currently doing doesn’t check the boxes on the three words above…it might be time to rethink it. 🤔💭⁣
