Today was the last game in the Ronnie Shellard trophy between ourselves and our friends in Causeway Bowls (Dungarvan). Causeway won both legs of the competition and Causeway Captain, Brian Brennan was presented with the trophy by Betty Shellard. Thank you, as ever to all in Causeway for your welcome, hospitality and continued friendship.

The Club wish to extend our condolences to the Wolfe family on the passing of John. He was secretary of the bowls section for many years and also a former trustee of the wider sports association.

Today saw the conclusion of the Catchpole Triples, played again in glourious sunshine. The winning team was George Tanner, Adrian Tanner & Alfie Tanner beating the team of Dave Hennessy, Sarah Ryan & Denis Mulcahy. Congratulations to all the teams that made it through to the Fiansl day

The final qualifiers from todays matches in our Catchpole Triples Trophy were George, Adrian & Alfie Tanner. Congratulations to them. The semi finals & finals will be played next Saturday

After the First day of our Catchpole Triples Trophy, played in glorious conditions, the following have made it through the semi-finals: AnneMarie McCarthy, Deirdre Roberts & Denis Madden from St Michaels Bowls Club, Sarah Ryan, Denis Mulcahy & Dave Hennessy ICICYMA Bowls & Clinton Krantz, Blake & Austin Schoeman (our South Africian contigent!!!) who just squeezed through on shot difference. Well done all. They will be joined by the final qualifier from tomorrows matches.

ICICYMA Outdoor Bowls “Catchpole” Triples Tournament 2025

We invite you to partake in the “Catchpole” Triples tournament which will take place in Garryduff Sports Centre on Saturday 5th/Sunday 6th July & Saturday 12th July
Format:
GROUP STAGE: Saturday 5th July
There will be 2 sessions – Morning starting at 10:30. Afternoon at 14:30 – pick which one you’d prefer. (Subject to adequate numbers in each session)
Sunday 6th July
Start time: 14:30

4 Teams of 3 players in a section, play each other once. Each match will be of 8 ends each. 2 woods per player. (Subject to change based on number of entries)
Win – 2 points Draw – 1 Point
Team tied on points go to shot difference. If teams still tied an extra end will be played.

• KNOCKOUT STAGE: Saturday 13th July
• (Subject to number of entries - Knock out stages may be played Sunday 7th July)
Start time 2:30
8 ends. 2 woods per player
In the event of teams tied after 8 ends, an extra end will be played
Entry Fee: €15 per team, to be paid before playing 1st match.

Just some photos of today's captain prize day held by Captain Eamon Stroker . We all had fun day thanks to Eamon and his merry men and women who organised the big day. Thanks to all involved and alll who came to play . A big thanks to Eamon and wife Gertrude for there hard work and time in keeping the club on the road for 2024 season and to all those who played a big part in the back round. Here's to a great new year 2025.

Yesterday we played for our "Presidents Trophy" , a competition where bowlers are teamed with non bowlers. Thank you to all those that entered. The eventual winners were Betty Shellard Des Quinn & Clinton Krantz who defeated June Douglas Denis Mulcahy & Jim O'Brien in the final
