A different side of Moc Chau. 🌿
We took this family off the usual tourist trail to Hang Tau — a remote H’Mong village hidden among the mountains.
The rain made the road harder, but also made the adventure much more memorable. Motorbikes, horses, animals, local life — and three curious young travelers enjoying every minute of it.

Mu Cang Chai in Green Season – Ep. 3 🌿

Traditional Hmong batik—with a little Italian creativity! 😂

After our morning trek, we travelled by motorbike to visit a Hmong family in their mountain village.

They welcomed us with lunch before showing the group how traditional fabric is decorated with hot beeswax and dyed with indigo.

Our Italian guests tried creating their own designs. The traditional patterns soon became cats, mountains and some very imaginative artwork!

It looked easy—but drawing a clean line required far more patience and control than we expected.

This is what we love about cultural travel: not only seeing something beautiful, but sitting down, trying it ourselves and learning directly from the people who keep the tradition alive.

Mu Cang Chai in Green Season – Ep. 2 🌿

You don’t come here only to see the rice terraces.

You walk through them—and into local life.

On Day Two, our Italian guests followed small mountain trails through endless green terraces and remote Hmong villages. Along the way, we met very few tourists—only local families, farmers, children and buffaloes.

By chance, we also had the opportunity to respectfully observe part of a family ceremony for a newborn baby—one of those meaningful travel moments that cannot be planned or found online.

Rice terraces, village trails, streams, muddy paths and unexpected local encounters: this is the Mu Cang Chai we want our guests to experience.

🥾 Mu Cang Chai in Green Season — Ep. 1: A Rainy Trek in Tu Le

Our Italian guests had one special request:

“We want a longer, more challenging trek—and we prefer dirt trails.”

So Guide Nghia gave them exactly that… and the Vietnamese weather kindly added some rain for free! 😂

On their first day, the group trekked nearly 9 km along small local trails, through Thai villages, beside streams and between the brilliant green rice fields of Tu Le.

The rain made the paths wetter and muddier, but it also made the mountains feel even more peaceful. After the trek, we reached a traditional Thai stilt-house homestay, where a warm local dinner was waiting for us.

A little rain, a lot of mud and plenty of laughter—not a bad first trekking day in Vietnam!
