Saturday was another hot and humid day at the Boat Yard but the quality of cricket was good and the competition in the game was fierce! 15 children once again took part in a 90 minute coaching session followed by a game won by the team captained by Pratyush, taking 21 wickets to keep the chasing team down to a very low score winning by over 50 runs! Well done to Pratyush, Shayan, Josh, Ben, Callum, Tom and Arman! Thanks to coaches Brett, Glenn and Matt as well as these great photos from resident photographer Tim Evans. Our new sponsorship is under negotiations and we hope we can get some new cricket equipment and a team kit very soon. Watch this space!

Record turnout for the hard ball cricket session at the Boatyard on Saturday, 16 young cricketers! Despite the high numbers we still managed to get everyone a coaching session with the bowling machines, some bowling tips on the bowling nets and a quick game to round things off with a 9 run victory for the team of Jack E , who managed to lose less wickets! Thanks to Tim for the photos and to coaches Brett, Glenn and Matt.

Another great cricket session at the Boat Yard on Saturday morning, slightly cooler than recent weeks but this week we had the sound of a tree being chopped down and smashing through the neighboring shed! Thank to our resident photographer Tim Evans and our coaches Glenn, Brett and Matt. 11 boys this week, we are getting closer to putting a team together!

A strange scene greeted the boatyard on this Saturday morning, a pollution reading of 211 and the app telling everybody to stay inside, but the boatyard kids are made of sterner stuff than that, and we went ahead anyway. As we got to the ground the rain started, and we were forced to give the Bowling machine some umbrella coverage as you can see from the photos here!

Thankfully, the rain cleared, and the pollution went away and we were able to have a great session in the coolest weather I can remember!

After some catching drills, we decided to have a “quik cricket” match in pairs against the bowling machines. The dynamic duo of Ben and Callum winning the day with a score of 55 having been 20 for 4 (nett score of 😎 after half of their 15 mins, just pipping the big hitting pair of Jack E and Kai who hit the most sixes but lost too many wickets to score a competitive 48. Josh and Joseph started well but lost too many wickets with Shervin and Aaron taking the wooden spoon. Good session with the right amount of fun and competitive spirit!
