Speaking of Kirikaeshi, this is a very important technical exercise in Kendo.
Like other sports, good breathing and technique will help the body maintain optimal energy levels during exercise.
Regarding breathing, deep and slow breathing in a relaxed body will help slow the heart rate during high-intensity exercise. The important thing in exercise is to focus the force of movement at a necessary moment, while the rest of the movement should be comfortable and driven by inertia.
For example, in swimming [the movement and breathing style is very similar to Kendo], in one stroke, the arm or leg movement is relaxed and thrown forward in half a circle, 1/4 of the arm will glide and sink into the water [due to gravity], the remaining 1/4 of the distance will be used to generate propulsion to move forward. Similarly, in a swinging motion, for 1/2 of the distance, the sword is thrown up comfortably at shoulder level. [furi kaburi], ¼ of the downward slashing distance is due to force from the back, and the remaining ¼ is due to cutting force [kiri] from the wrist.
Notes on Kirikaeshi:
*Let breathe in kendo with a shout [Kakagoe]
*Attack your opponent with a powerful Kamae [Seme]
*Swing your sword quickly and strike forcefully with the first strike [Kiri], ideally using the Nikyodo kiri technique
*Maintain your Zanshin after each strike
*Continue the shout [breathing] while striking repeatedly
*Maintain the speed of your strikes, movement, and distance according to the speed and distance of your Motodachi
*Finish with a powerful Zanshin.
