Originally a group of Expats playing occasionally in Saigon and Hanoi. The Vietnam Cricket Association (VCA) was formed in 2005 to bring in a structured League with standardized playing rules and Laws. In 2020, the Government recognized the growth of Cricket in the Vietnamese community as well as with Expats and formed the Ho Chi Minh City Cricket Federation (HCF) which promotes itself simply as C
ricket Vietnam. More recently, the Vietnamese Olympic Committee approved HCF as the controlling body for International Cricket activities. The VCA currently runs 2 Leagues in Saigon with 17 teams, including the Vietnamese National Squad (VNS). Games are played at the weekends in D10 from November to April. Clubs are developing around the country for Vietnamese and Expats; notably Hoian and Nha Trang with clubs forming also in Hanoi and Vung Tau. The major International Schools in Saigon are including Cricket in their list of sporting activities. Post-Covid, we'll see Vietnam playing home and away International T20 games. As with all developing sports world-wide, financing is a key issue. We, therefore, welcome sponsors, both private and corporate. It's an exciting time to get involved with Cricket Vietnam!
