Super Athletes of the Caribbean

Super Athletes of the Caribbean Super Athletes of the Caribbean, Inc. is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. The primary focus of Super Athlete of the Caribbean.

is an organization aimed at providing superior sports education and training in basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, swimming, golf and soccer for children in the Virgin Islands. is to use sports for middle school, high school, and to some degree, college age players who want to excel in sports. It is important to begin training as soon as an interest in a particular sport develops especial

ly for those who have professional goals or who are seeking scholarships at the college level. By obtaining experience and training in the sport of interest, children can receive a leg-up through experience their peers have yet to receive. This leads to a competitive edge on the field, which results into greater performance and higher rates of success. This extra experience can easily translate into a greater probability for success in achieving scholarships or professional careers. By emphasizing youth programs, our organization will assist young players to receive training far in advance of their competitors, opening up the greater opportunities available to the best players.

The Virgin Islands U15 team struggled with foul trouble and fell to Costa Rica, 76-59, on Thursday afternoon at the 2024 Centrobasket.

Team ISV fought back from a halftime deficit and briefly took a one-point lead, 51-50, thanks to a three-pointer from Rubio Heywood.

However, foul issues began to mount, with four players on the brink of fouling out. One by one, players were disqualified, and Costa Rica capitalized on the situation.

Te'Mhani Joseph led the team with 18 points before fouling out, while Micaiah Jones added 13 before cramps forced him out of the game. Three players fouled out, and one had four fouls. The loss drops the Virgin Islands to 0-2 in pool play with one game remaining.

The Virgin Islands will face neighboring Puerto Rico at 8:00 PM Friday night. Puerto Rico holds an 11-1 record over the Virgin Islands in youth play.

I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea to help my great friend, the steadfast Captain Mike of the Jolly Roger. As many know, the Jolly Roger has been a beacon of joy and adventure in St. Croix since the early '80s. With its iconic blue and white striped sails, this magnificent boat has been a cherished part of our community’s maritime landscape. We need your help; Captain Mike and Jolly Roger must sail again.
