The Crustacean Nation fights back! It is very common for invasive Lionfish to prey on juvenile Spiny Lobsters, which results in significant population loss.

These two species also share the same reef habitats, putting them in direct competition and frequent contact.

While lobster generally ignore Lionfish, injured or bleeding ones catch their attention for an easy meal.
