Green Acres is a family owned business operated by Wayne and Lisa Green. Our Fishing Lodge offers lodging for couples, families, and small groups (bass clubs, family reunions, weekend get a ways, golfers, boaters, bird watchers, etc). The "Bird's Nest" is a two bedroom, one bath, 900 sq ft cabin, great for two couples or a small family. The Bed and Breakfast (which caters to couples) is in the mai

n house/lodge with a King Sized Bed and priviate entrance. The "Rooster's Roost" which is a large two bedroom open concept facility (private-no sharing with people you don't know, this is for one group/family/club). The Rooster's Roost includes 4 Queen and 4 Twin Beds. Our newest cabin is the "Tiger's Den" Cabin which is a one room cabin which is set up for just one or two guests.

We are a very small operation where you and your family or a group of friends might be the only ones on this sixteen acre waterfront property during your entire stay. Our goal is to offer you clean, safe, secure (gated property), and comfortable accommodations so you can enjoy your time here on the lake. After 17 years of running a successful Cabin Rental Business, Green Acres Fishing Lodge on Toledo Bend Reservoir has decided to sell our business and move back to Southern Louisiana to be closer to family and grandchildren.
We are selling 6-16 acres of waterfront property in a cove just off of San Miguel Bay (Cozy Point area) with a private boat launch and a boat house with a trapeze swing, a large picnic area, and a fish cleaning station with fresh water. The boat house also has two boat slips so you wouldn’t have to take your boat out of the water every day, and the property comes with two canoes, two fishing kayaks and a Bass Buggy Pontoon boat.
Additionally, the property has two cabins, a metal building for boat storage and sleeping quarters with 8 beds, and a main house with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. This gives you so many options, including a turnkey rental business (most of the furnishings will stay), a family compound, or even an individual homestead with beautiful views of the lake. This would also be great for a business that wants a nice camp to bring their customers to fish Toledo Bend.

Summer time is Family time here at Green Acres Fishing Lodge. This week we had returning guests Bobby and Talia and along with their son, Wesson, and Granddaughter, Naomi visit with us from Lafitte, LA for a Father's Day Weekend visit. On the first day they took a family guided fishing trip catching a nice mess of Sac-a-Lait. The second day the boys took a guided Bass fishing trip which included Bobby's Father catching some nice Bass including a 6 pounder. The family also swam, enjoyed the trapeze swing, and caught some fish off of our boat house. I enjoyed visiting with the family and look forward to their next visit. Happy Father's Day.

Summer just wouldn't be complete without having our friends and returning guests visit with us from the Jeanerette, LA. The guys are back for their annual Crappie fishing trip, L/R are Paul, Clay, Mike, Steve and Greg. Unfortunately, we had some bad weather and lots of rain come through this week and the guys weren't sure they would get their fishing trip in this year. However, the morning of the scheduled fishing trip cleared up and the sun even stuck out its head. The guys fished with Captain Gerald of Mitchell's Guide Service and had a really good day considering the lake level went up about 4 inches, They caught 60 Crappie, some big Bluegill and some Catfish to round out their cooler. I enjoyed visiting with the guys and look forward to their next visit.

We always enjoy having returning guests and friends, Cecil and Barb (couple on the right), visit with us from Robert's Cove, LA. Cecil and Barb have been coming here for years and we have developed a great relationship with them. Cecil invited me to join him on a guided fishing trip with Captain Alex of Martin's Guide Service. We had to hit a lot of spots but we ended up with a two man limit of 50 Sac-a-Lait or Crappie. We also were able to go out to dinner with them one night and had them over to the house where Lisa made us all a great meal after fishing all morning. Always great to see you both.

We recently had first time guests, Danny and Benny, retired Firefighters from the Lafayette and Alexandria, LA areas visit with us here at Green Acres Fishing Lodge. It was a quick trip for the guys who came in to catch some Toledo Bend White Perch. The guys fished with a friend and caught 68 Crappie (close to their 3 man limit) before the rain chased them off of the water. The guys said they had a great time and planned on coming back to stay with us again in the near future.

We've had a pretty dry Winter this year on Toledo Bend; however, it has been a little wet the last couple of weeks. That means, we have "fungus among us" i.e. the mushrooms are starting to pop up every where. Here are a few here at Green Acres Fishing Lodge.

White Perch fishing on Toledo Bend is hot right now! Returning guests, Keith from Shreveport, LA along with Newton and Keith from the Baton Rouge area came in this year for another fishing trip. The guys fished two days with Captain Gerald of Mitchell's Guide Service catching their limit of 75 Crappie on both days. The guys said the fishing was hot and cold at times but Captain Gerald kept on the fish until they loaded up their cooler. I enjoyed visiting with the guys and look forward to seeing them again.
