This week’s brag board: built for real-world strength, not just numbers on the bar:

🔸Two years into training at BO, Ryan has worked toward new numbers across three major lifts. A 335 lb trap bar deadlift leads the way, backed by a 225 lb bench press and a back squat that jumped 50 lbs from where it started. Three different lifts, three different muscle groups, one consistent trend: stronger every time he’s under the bar. He’s also noticed real improvement in knee strength and health along the way.

🔸Alex has been working toward becoming stronger in all aspects of the gym, and the PRs are showing it. 245 lbs on the deadlift, 155 lbs on the back squat, and 80 lbs on the goblet squat for reps. Three lifts, three new bests. She’s pairing that strength training with dialed-in nutrition,

Strength that shows up everywhere. In the gym and out of it. Who’s next?

Consistency is what keeps progress moving.

You don’t need every workout to be perfect. You need a plan you can stick to, even when life gets busy, motivation dips, or you’re not feeling 100%.

We asked our trainers for their best advice on staying consistent. Here’s what they said. Swipe through.

Tight, stiff hips from sitting at your desk all day?

Try these 3 moves from Troy to loosen things back up:

1. Kneeling Quad to Hamstring
On your down leg, squeeze that glute while pushing your hips forward (that’s what stretches the quad). Then shift to your front leg: sit your hips back and straighten that leg out to feel it in the hamstring.

2. Adductor Hip Rocks
With your leg straight out to the side, keep your big toe flat on the ground and your heel lifted. Chest tall, sit your hips back, and keep your back flat. Don’t let it round. Rock forward and back, alternating which leg is straight.

3. 90/90s
Start seated with your front leg bent at 90° and your back leg bent 90° the opposite way. Keep your torso as upright as you can, using your arms for support if you need it. Alternate side to side, focusing on getting both knees and ankles down to the ground each time.

📌 Save this so you have it ready for your next desk break

Client Spotlight (Clarinda forced our hand)

Clarinda, 85, has been training with us twice a week since 2022, working with Mike on balance and lower body strength.

At 85, it’s what keeps her steady on stairs, confident on her feet, and living life on her own terms.

Fun fact: she’s hit 300 lbs on the leg press — and recently showed that strength, nearly taking Mike out with a ball toss.

Keep showing up, Clarinda. Mike will recover.

Maureen started weight training at 53 years old. Twenty years later, she's stronger than ever.

In this conversation, Maureen and her trainer Mark talk about what two decades of consistent training actually looks like: working through injuries without losing progress, staying strong enough for the things that matter (grandkids, tennis, biking trips through France), and why the relationship between a client and trainer matters just as much as the workouts themselves.

If you've been waiting for the perfect time to start, this might be it. Just ask Maureen.

This week’s Brag Board is all about building strength for the things you love:

Kristen is building strength that lasts, the kind that keeps up with her as she gets older instead of fading with time.

She stays active because she loves it. The real payoff shows up outside the gym: on the next family adventure trip, wherever that takes her, knowing her body can keep pace.

Chip trains for the game he loves: golf.
The goal isn’t just to get stronger. It’s to stay strong, move well, and keep playing at a high level for years to come.

And the numbers?

100 lb dumbbells × 3 on bench
375 lb trap bar deadlift
275 lb back squat

All-time PRs, built with the right training and a trainer in his corner every rep.

Strength isn’t the finish line. It’s what makes everything else possible.
