Went to a practice obstacle course today with obstacles from the Spartan race. I haven't had much experience with obstacle courses other than elementary school so it was a good opportunity to practice for the warrior dash :)

I was proud I completed all but one obstacle. The rope climb...I will beat you one day!

Super late workout...but day 3, week 2 of the shift shop is in the books!

I was having trouble hearing it all on my computer. So tonight my hubby hooked up these awesome external speakers we had :) it makes 10000x difference if you can hear everything without straining. This was an awesome workout after a long and exhausting day.

Day 1 of a new program, shift shop, completed! So, since my morning workouts have not been working out so well, I decided to switch it up. So after I clocked out of work today, I fired up beachbody on demand, and hit play. My co-workers had fun chuckling at me attempting to be coordinated haha. I have improved since last year though. It's about progress not perfection.

I do have to say, that this arrangement helps my energy levels. I have an hour long commute, and getting up early to workout, shower and get ready for work, I was finding I was very tired by the time I was driving to work. However, when I workout after work and before my drive home, the exercise gives me energy and refreshes me, allowing me to be more alert on my drive home :) I think I am going to give this a consistent try and see how it goes :)

It's about finding what works for you. Timing can make all the difference. If you try it one way, and it isn't working, try it another way. Don't give up!

Ok everyone, the first week of warrior training was a flop :( I completed 3 days of the training. Between work being crazy, and preparing for house guests this week, it just didn't happen. I I have to say I am disappointed, but I am using this as an opportunity for growth, and a second chance.

I am going to be more realistic and set my new start date to 7/24. We have house guests, and family stuff this week, so starting a new regime this week would not be realistic. I will still be working out this week because my body now craves it. I find that if I go more than 2 days without working out, I get antsy. So workouts will happen.

This rainbow that was behind my house last week, represents a bright new opportunity to shine :)

Ok everyone, here is the outline for my warrior dash training. I am starting off a little lighter so I don't re-injure myself. I will be adjusting weight, repetitions, sets and running distance as I feel my body adjust.

I came up with this outline by reviewing the obstacles and looking at the recommended exercises to prepare for each one. I then put it all together to make up a workout routine. I will make adjustments as needed.

Day 1 is complete :) Super stoked for this!

Official start to Warrior Dash Training is July 10th! I will be continuing my Beachbody workouts and adding in Running 3 - 4x per week and some extra strengthening exercises to target the obstacles. I am still working out the details but I will be posting my training schedule and updating my progress throughout the process.

Now, I am not a runner or jogger by any means. My knee pain makes it very difficult to run. My plan is to start slow and short, and gradually increase distance and speed as I improve. My current exercise routine has made my knee pain better in that stairs are easier with less pain, and squats are much better with little to no discomfort, just slow. So my hope is that as I introduce jogging/running into my exercise routine, my body will adjust accordingly :)

An important part of my training will be diet as well. I tend to eat more cheese and dairy than I probably should which can lead to joint inflammation and pain. So, I will be strictly reducing my cheese and ice-cream intake, I already cut out one of my favorites...greek yogurt :(. Further limiting my cheese intake will take huge will power for me as cheese is one of my favorite foods.

However, I am ready for the challenge, and am looking forward to this adventure! July 10th Training start...here I come!!!

Outside workout today! Weather was perfect! On vacation currently, but that's no excuse to slack on my fitness :)

I am going to start training for The Warrior Dash that is in september, soon! Super nervous for this next adventure as I have never done 5k before, let alone an obstacle course 5k. But I am also super excited :) stay tuned for my training outline :)

Shift shop sneak peek is in the books! Really enjoyed it and looking forward to the full program release in July :) Chris Downing has an awesome style that will motivate and inspire you :)

I missed my workout this morning, so after clocking out at work, I brought BOD on my phone and got it done right at work before my 1hr commute home :)

I was more energized and alert for my drive home, and feel awesome! Going to have to start doing at least a mini workout before I head home to help get my energy and alertness up :)
