What You'll Learn
The SSI Open Water Diver course has three main parts, designed to get you comfortable and confident in the water:

Knowledge Development: Before you even get wet, you'll master the essential principles, concepts, and terms for safe and enjoyable diving. This part is done at home through SSI's online training, taking about 10-12 hours to complete at your own pace.

Confined Water Dives: Next, you'll head to the lake (for calm, shallow water environment) to learn and practice all your core scuba skills. You'll even get to do some "mini-dives" to put it all together, preparing you for the real thing!

Open Water Dives: This is where the magic happens! You'll apply and demonstrate everything you've learned during four exciting open water dives at a local dive site. Imagine exploring the pristine waters of Lake Tahoe, surrounded by its unique beauty!

Your Passport to Underwater Adventure
Earning your SSI Open Water Diver certification means you've met the highest standards of dive training. This certification is your key to:

Rent scuba equipment: Gear up easily at dive centers and resorts worldwide.
