Pheasant hunting is enjoyed by many hunters in West Michigan. Here at Olive Acres we try to make the hunting experience as realistic as possible. Olive Acres started operations in 2004. 120 acres of farm fields planted with sorghum corn, milo and switch grass. Pheasant and Chukar are the primary options. Olive Acres is open to the public six days a week by reservation. We offer hunts for any size

groups. Specializing in the single hunter to small groups ranging from 3 to 4 persons per outing. This is a great opportunity to take a client, employee or a friend for a unique adventure and hunting experience. Our modest clubhouse offers a place for you to meet before and after your hunt. Please no phone calls on Sundays as we keep this as a family day.

A few strays wandering around, but we're officially done with the hunts for this season. Thank you all for coming out this season in some not so nice weather conditions! We enjoyed seeing some of our favorite regulars and meeting new groups! Have a great Summer and we hope to see you in the Fall again.

We are having hunts longer than the past couple of years because of the harder Winter, preventing us from hunting more often. We are still going through March so give Arvin a call to set up a hunt with pheasants or Chukar. 616-895-4868

a couple of hawks and a night owl visiting our tower this winter. Hoping the worst of the snow is behind us, we can now see the grasses and sorghum laying in the fields, should make for easier hunting! Friday a couple of groups braved the wind and snow, we appreciate you coming out in spite of the weather! Hope to see more of you out here soon so we can wrap up this hunting season by the end of March. 616-895-4868 give Arvin a call!

It's one of those rare days that we have called groups to cancel their hunts. The weather isn't fit for either people or dogs! Stay home and stay warm

Brrrr, it's a roller coaster this week with the weather! We are working hard to keep the fields open with snow blowing paths. Come dressed accordingly for your hunts, the walking will be a little more strenuous than this Fall.

It's a big day today for us and classes of teenagers. Those who have passed their hunter's safety course are getting a chance to shoot some Chukar in our fields. They arrive & leave at scheduled times throughout the day, their teacher is very organized and runs it very well. Many volunteers are here to help it be safe. It's a busy day but fun to watch the excitement on the teenagers faces when they get one. Derek also teaches them how to clean the birds and cook them.

With the Summer weather hanging on, we are only doing morning hunts until day time temperatures come down. Weather can play a big factor on having a successful hunt, so it's good to pay attention to the forecast when booking a hunt. For example, if it calls for breezy conditions, out here will be windy, if there are marine warnings issued, it's probably too windy here also. Dogs have a harder time picking up scents. Light snow isn't bad, heavy snow and wind is a good day to stay home. We rarely cancel though, we let you decide if you don't mind being out there. If the snow is too deep in the fields to walk it, we might give you a call to reschedule then.
