📢 Community Notice – Bureau of Reclamation Chemical Alarm System Test

The Cocopah Indian Tribe Office of Emergency Management would like to inform all Tribal Community members and RV Resort residents that the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) will be conducting a scheduled Chemical Alarm System test on:

📅 Wednesday, July 29, 2026
🕗 Between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.

During this time, you may hear alarm sirens as part of the scheduled testing. This is only a test. There is no emergency and no action is required by the public.

This testing is conducted to ensure the Chemical Alarm System remains operational and ready to provide timely warnings in the event of an actual emergency.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work together to keep our community informed and prepared.

The Bureau of Reclamation’s previously scheduled April 7 alarm/notification test had to be rescheduled for Tuesday, April 28.

The test involves sounding the alarm multiple times to ensure the mass notification system is operating effectively.

Between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., PDT, YAO’s chemical release alarm and mass notification sirens will be activated for up to 20 minutes to determine if the systems are operating correctly.
