Cougar Wrestling Club The Cougar Wrestling Club was established to support the Crane Middle School Wrestling Team. Thank you!

The past six wrestling seasons have brought lots of successes to the Cougar Wrestlers who have worked hard producing five seasons in the top three in Yuma County and three SYCIA Championships. These seasons were made possible by the dedication, work ethic, and determination of the over 180 young men and women who made up the Crane Middle School Wrestling Team over the past six years. Not only have

the Cougar Wrestlers had excellent seasons on the mat, they have also made a good impression on the other teams as well with their good sportsmanship. The Cougar Wrestling Team work to build a family atmosphere in the wrestling room and puts the focus on being a STUDENT athlete, not just an athlete. We would like to thank all the parents and community supporters who have contributed to our success over the years.

Wrestling season is upon us again! Cougar wrestlers will come together for another epic middle school season. Practices have started but it is never to late to join. Let your friends know and family members know. We need some upper weights to help fill up the line up.

Remember Crane Wrestlers this lose should inspire you to work harder. To push each other to the limit and strive to improve! Hard work pays off...you have to want to win more than they do. Not just the day of the match but everyday before it as well. You have to want it more at practice. You have to want it more when making choices of what to eat. You have to want it more when working on your academics and when making behavioral choices. It isn't about wanting it more just at the match, but every moment up to that. So think about it and decide, do you want it more than they do???

The Cougars fell to Somerton 42-57 tonight moving the Crane Middle School Wrestlers to 2-1. The Somerton Cobras racked up points early in the light weights going up 42-0. Crane rallied in the upper weights bringing the score back to 35-42. Crane was unable to overcome Somerton's lead in the final three matches leaving the final score at 42-57. Congratulations Somerton and we look forward to another tough match the next time we meet.

The Cougars had a great match against the much improved, tough Southwest Mustangs. The Cougar Wrestlers improved to 2-0 with a victory, beating Southwest 55-39.

Their next dual will be a true test as they face the Somerton Cobras this Tuesday! Good luck Cougars!

Only a few more days until the journey begins. The Cougar Wrestlers will shed blood, sweat and tears in the quest for Back-to-Back SYCIA Championships and their fourth championship in five years. Greatness is not easily achieved though and it will take hard work and dedication from wrestlers, teachers, parents, coaches, friends and fans. Yuma County has become a hot spot for wrestling over the past 10 years, each year the middle school wrestling teams get better and better. It is going to take more work than ever to win another championship. We know the Cougars have the will power and determination to meet this goal.

Our first practice will be after school on Tuesday, August 9th, from 2:30pm to 4:15pm. Bring shorts, a t-shirt, and a strong work ethic. If you live in the Crane Middle School Boundaries you can take the activity bus home after practice or be picked up by parents.
