Bill Rigsby started the Humbug Racing Team in 1968 with a tight nit group of friends. Bill Rigsby led the Humbug Racing Team to numerous race wins and multiple championships, until his passing in 1994, in a pre-running accident. Despite losing the team and family patriarch the team with the help of many family and friends soldiered on continuing to win race's. We will continue to carry on and win race's long into the future as long as there are grandkids and great grandkids to carry on.

I did a thing!
paying ohmage to Kyle Larsons attempt at doing the double (competing in the Indy 500 and the NASCAR Coke 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in the same day). Not only by running both events but flying from Indy to Charlotte real time on my flight simulator between the two time slots just as in real life, all while streaming this adventure live on TWITCH. The ultimate nerd experience for sure!

So I started my adventure at 1pm PST by running the iRacing National Indy Car series weekly race which was a 312 mile race in a Indy Car at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway which is a precursor to next weeks iRacing special event INDY 500. while the Indy race wasn't a full 500 race the 312 mile race was the only way I could simulate running the double in an accurate time frame with the iRacing Special Event Coke 600 starting at 6pm PST.
We started our Indy Car race in the 23rd out of 33 starting spot and had a decent race finishing 5th.

I then jumped into my flight sim and flew a TBM 930 IFR from Indy to Charlotte through some interesting real time weather landing with only a minute to spare before the 6pm start of the COKE 600.

We started iRacing Special Event COKE 600 in the 19th starting position out of 32. The race ran green until the first pit stops around lap 50 of 400. Without a Yellow it meant green flag pit stop time after staying out a little longer than some others we pitted from 4th. while making my entrance onto pit road I locked my fronts slightly and got a speeding penalty (too fast entering pit road) resulting a 40 second hold during green flag running! this error on my part put us 2 laps down. Coming out of the pits 2laps down just behind the 3rd place car gave us the ability to run the leader down and pass him to get one of our laps back.

Around lap 150 of 400 we got lucky with a yellow flag locking in that one lap recovery and put us the third car one lap down. After the restart we past the other cars a lap down ahead of us leaving us in the LUCKY DOG position. around lap197 0f 400 another yellow came out giving us the lucky dog free pass putting us back on the lead lap but P22. We put our head down and took the lead around lap 320 of 400 and pretty much fought it out with the top 5 cars for the next 60 laps until we had a series of short runs filled will yellows after I had pulled out over 1.0 sec lead. We ended the race in overtime with a green white checkers finish where we were able to pull of the last lap WIN!!!!!!!!!

After 9.5 hours of racing, flying, and streaming we ended up with a top 5 in the INDY Car race and WON the iRacing special event NASCAR COKE 600 in the same day!

Next weekend is the official iRacing special event INDY 500!!!! LET'S GOOOOO GET THE WIN!!!!!!!
