Hello my Amazing Yuba City K*k Sool Family,
I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer, and I can’t wait to see many of you back in class! It’s hard to believe that August is already here and that the new school year will be starting soon. Back-to-school season can be an extremely hectic time as everyone adjusts and reorganizes their schedules. Summer can be filled with so many activities, and I completely understand that it can sometimes be difficult to find time to train. Keep in mind that YC K*k Sool offers an open class schedule, giving students a variety of days and times to choose from. The only classes that are limited to specific days are Dragons and Turtle Tots. Maintaining regular class attendance not only helps students continue to improve their martial arts skills, but can also help improve focus and concentration while supporting overall physical health.

Here are a few important upcoming events:Black Belt Testing:

Quarterly black belt test will be held on Saturday, Aug 29th. There will be no regular class.Closed Labor Day: No Classes on Monday, September 7th.

Seminar Weekend: No Classes on Saturday, Sept 12th. Seminar will be held on Sunday, Sept 13th.

Belt Testing: Quarterly belt test for all levels will be held on on Saturday, Sept 26th at 10AM. Make up testing will be held on Tuesday, Sept 29th at 5PM. Promotion date will be announced.

IT’S TIME FOR THE ANNUAL K*K SOOL SEMINAR: In K*k Sool we are very fortunate to have the founder of our martial art not only alive but also very active in the association. Every year his team travels to all the different K*k Sool schools to teach a special seminar that introduces students to new training techniques and methods. On Sunday, September 13th the World K*k Sool Association will be holding their annual training seminar. This is a special and unique opportunity for students of all ages and levels to meet and train with the highest ranked masters in all of K*k Sool. It's also a very special opportunity to meet some of the highest level K*k Sool masters in the world.. The seminar runs from 10:00AM - 12:30PM for all ages and belts, and 1:00PM-3:30PM for black belts. Cost is to attend is only $60. Please refer to our front table to sign up and to pick up a seminar application.

Dear Yuba City K*k Sool Family,

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable 4th of July! It's hard to believe that summer vacation season is already nearly halfway over. As summer continues, I'd like to encourage everyone to keep attending class consistently. Even if you miss a few days here and there, maintaining consistent training will help you continue to improve and reach your training goals.

We also wanted to remind everyone that sparring class will be held this Tuesday at 6:00 PM. If you've never participated in sparring before, you're welcome to come and give it a try. It's a great opportunity to learn, build confidence, and have fun while learning how to spar.

I also wanted to let everyone know about a small change to our upcoming vacation closure. I accidentally left one day off the original schedule that was posted. The school will be closed from Saturday, July 11th, through Tuesday, July 14th.

As a reminder, we created our summer vacation schedule to help students continue attending classes consistently despite the occasional closures. If you have any questions about the schedule or your training, please don't hesitate to ask.

Hello YC K*k Sool Family,
I hope your all doing great and are looking forward to an enjoyable summer season. We just wanted to send out a quick reminder of some upcoming events as well as dates that we will be closed. We also wanted to remind everyone about the importance of drinking plenty of water during the warm season. Hydration should start hours before any physical activity. Make sure to stay away from drinks that contain high levels of sugar.

K*k Sool T-Shirts - Students may start wearing a K*k Sool Won T-shirt in place of the traditional top to class over the summer months. Belts are required. T-shirts are $20. See sir if you have any questions.

BELT AND STRIPE TESTING: Our quarterly belt and stripe test will be held on Saturday, June 13th, at 10:15 AM. Promotion will be held on Thursday, June 18th at 6PM.

Archery: We will be having a fun beginner archery class on Wednesday, June 24th, at 5:30PM. The cost of the class is $15 and pre-sign up is required. Sign-up sheet will be on the front information table.

Summer Vacation - We have always tried to keep training consistent throughout the summer months. Because of that we do not close for long periods of time for vacation. Instead we close a couple days at a time a few times throughout the summer. This gives everyone an opportunity to train consistently. Keep in mind that if you come to class twice a week throughout the year you have dedicated 104 DAYS of that year to your training. I can say with certainty that even if you only can make once a week you will improve as a martial artist.

Memorial Day May 25
June 8 - 9
July 4th
July 11 -13
August 3 - 6
August 12th – No Dragons class - First days of School.

Possible additional closed dates will be announced in class.

Unfortunately, practice swords will not be shipped until later this week. We are moving the sword class to next Wednesday, May 6th. Sorry for the inconvenience, but we will still have fun learning sword techniques.

Just a reminder that the Pacific Coast Tournament will be held this Saturday (February 21st) at the Yuba College gymnasium!

Below are the start times for Saturday's competition. Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled start time.
