So depending on the person this can hold different meanings, for some it's substance abuse, for others alcohol. For me I am going to apply it to food, I LOVE food and struggle tremendously when trying to reign it in. Throughout the entire month of October I will be slamming the brakes on all sugary foods. No candy. No ice cream. No drinks with sugar. Trying to cut concentrated sugar out as much as possible. CLEAN EATING
Along with that I will be running a minimum of 1 mile a day and I WILL be posting it to keep myself accountable

Two races ✔✔ in the books for owner

First, the Coos Bay Catching Slough half marathon (13.1 miles) in June
And second, a 8 woman team Ragnar relay in Tahoe last weekend. 3 legs for a total of 15.5 miles and 4,000 ft vert

While consistently running is (obviously) a key factor in being able to preform come race day, weight training is also critical too! Maintaining a solid lower body training routine while in race prep helps build ham/glute strength to tackle vert, as well as strengthen connective tissues, reducing your risk of injury and increasing your efficiency during your run.

We get asked all the time- what do you eat? How do you meal prep?

For us, lunch prep for the week has to be fast, cheap, and simple (insert your mom joke). And I mean FAST fast, like 10 minutes tops. Here's what we do most weeks:

Jake's lunch: Ground turkey and jasmine rice- pre seasoned flavors and sauces vary. Time:10 min Cost: ~$9 per week
Michelle's lunch: Chicken salad wrap- salad kit flavor of choice (Asian salad is a personal fav), pre cooked chicken, and a tortilla. Prep time: 2 mins Cost: ~$16 per week

Deadlifts are by far the house favorite here at Elite Strength& Power!

with an all time personal best of 330lbs, with the kiddo being the best hype man of all time (peep his face at the end 😲)
