I slept very well having taken a Sonata (Zaleplon) and wearing sleep comfy headphones. Sonata is a very short acting sleeping pill that keeps me from waking up a lot during the night but has no sedation at after 6 hours. I had first used it for my 11 hour flight to Fiji as I knew that I would have to work on the day of arrival and wanted to guarantee some good sleep on the plane....

We had a full day scheduled for Sunday. I was up early enough to sneak in a run, but I wanted to keep it short as there was a hike scheduled for the afternoon. Saturday I had a flight from Miami International to Honduras (XPL, Palmerola International Airport, in Comayagua, serving Tegucigalpa, the capital and largest city; all the different names made it confusing when looking for flight info at the airport). My flight on American Airlines was at 11:20am. For our medical mission we were told we had to arrive in Honduras between 10am and 2pm as all 45 of us would be bused together to the location....

I am in Boca Raton for one day today, December 1st, 2023. I am flying to Honduras tomorrow for a weeklong medical mission and didn't want to risk winter weather or other airline issues. About a year ago my child called and said “can I ask you a question”? They wanted to know IF I would run the NYC Marathon with them. Obviously YES! I’ve run many Marathons and Triathlons with barely any reason, much less the honor of accompanying them! We had run one 5K together many years ago but Alex was never an enthusiastic runner even during the 10 years they played soccer....

I wanted to do THIS entry Saturday night before the Marathon but got busy and tired so I’ll write it today (Wednesday) and do my “official” Marathon Memoir tomorrow. I am actually working 2 days this week (brutal) and was busy yesterday (swam , Krav Maga class, dog to and from groomer, unpacked , did laundry, etc. etc. ). Here are my flight photos, I was the only one on plane wearing mask but I don’t want to catch a cold or Covid....

30 minutes until JetBlue plane to NYC boards. I’m going to do a quick blog entry here at Buffalo airport. More photos than words as time is limited. It has been 4 weeks since my last blog and I was about to pull iPad out my backpack when I remembered that although it is much nicer to type and edit on the real Bluetooth keyboard and big screen the iPad gets very slow about a few pages/photos into blogging....
