⚓🍻 THE SECRETARY'S RACE IS SATURDAY 🍻⚓

If you've ever thought, "I'd like to participate in a sailboat race, but only if it starts at the bar," then congratulations — this is your event.

The day kicks off with clams and clam chowder courtesy of the Fleet while racers register and are randomly assigned to boats. That's right: no picking teams, no recruiting ringers, and absolutely no guarantee you'll end up with someone who knows port from starboard.

When the gun goes off, racers sprint from the bar to their assigned boats. (Fun fact: one year Andy Ho**er may or may not have demonstrated that fi****ms and awnings should maintain a healthy social distance. RIP Andy. You'll never be forgotten.)

Once underway, all bets are off. Secretary extraordinaire Jess Anderson directs the fleet throughout the race, and her instructions can range from "drop a sail" to "start your engine" to "wait, what are we doing now?" The only certainty is uncertainty.

No sailing experience is necessary. A sense of humor, however, is highly recommended.

Come for the chowder. Stay for the confusion (and the Director's Lobster Boil). Leave with stories you'll be telling all season.

🦞 Thinking about lobster? Don’t wait too long.

The Secretary’s Race & Director’s Lobster Boil is coming up on Saturday, June 13, and lobster dinners must be pre-ordered by Monday, June 8.

Because lobsters are purchased specifically for this event and priced at current market value, advance orders are required. After June 8, we won’t be able to add additional lobster dinners.

Not a seafood lover? No worries. A 12 oz strip steak dinner will also be available.
