This one has been years in the making.

At the New Delhi Marathon, I clocked 2 hours 9 minutes in the half marathon. My personal best. No overnight breakthroughs. Just patience, consistency, and a quiet belief that the work would eventually compound.

Race morning started at 3:30 am, travelling from Gurgaon to Delhi. Logistically challenging, especially as a woman heading out that early. I’m deeply grateful to my parents who insisted on dropping me to the metro station at that hour. That act of care made a big difference to me mentally.

I’ve been running for years now. I’ve coached athletes myself. But every coach needs a coach. Someone who sees the technical nuances, manages the emotional swings of training, and keeps you patient when you want to rush the process. Thank you to my coach Sannat for holding that space and helping me trust the journey.

And to my family and friends who are my forever cheer squad. Thank you for celebrating this β€œhobby” like it’s an Olympic medal. For you, I’m a rockstar regardless of the clock, and that’s the real win.

Grateful. Grounded. And still hungry for more..

Homecoming. Full circle. Deeply meaningful.

MindfulRunning had the privilege of speaking with runners from Cognizant who are gearing up for the New Delhi Marathon on 22nd February.

Cognizant is where my own running journey began. To return and speak about running, preparation, and mindset to a new cohort of runners was truly special.

We interacted with both first time runners and seasoned participants, diving into:

βœ… Choosing the right gear
βœ… Smart hydration & nutrition strategies
βœ… Structured training approaches
βœ… Practical race-day do’s and don’ts
βœ… And most importantly β€” the mindset that carries you through every mile

The energy in the room was curious, committed, and inspiring.

There is something powerful about professionals stepping into goals that challenge them beyond the workplace. That commitment deserves appreciation.

Grateful to Cognizant for fostering that culture.

And a heartfelt thank you to Tamasa, Taranpreet and Susan Deepika for inviting MindfulRunning and making this session possible.
