Lamplighters Adventuring Society is accepting applications for Yosemite Backpacking Guides for the May–October season.

Spend your summer leading Half Dome day hikes and 4–6 day wilderness backpacking trips with a small guiding company that values professionalism, trust, and meaningful outdoor experiences.

Some shots from a big Alaskan backpacking trip. This trip was 7 days in Lake Clark National Park, the second least visited park in the country! It was a total wilderness without a single trail.

We flew in on a float plane across a vast mountain range. We hiked across rainy windswept tundra. We crossed ice cold glacial rivers that froze our feet! We traversed a stark mountain chain that seemed impenetrable at first glance. We camped on the shore of a dark blue lake. What a wild adventure!

Here are some Yellowstone shots from our backpacking adventure to Heart Lake.

Greg celebrated his retirement by going backpacking with his three sons Mike, Drew, and Matt, and two old friends Paul and Chris!

I led them out into a wild part of Yellowstone where we hiked under Mount Sheridan, swam in lakes, forded rivers, and camped in golden meadows!

Each night, elk bugled in the woods and loons called across the moonlit water. It was a beautiful trip with great people.

These are photos from a trip I guided last summer to the Arrigetch Peaks in Alaska.

We traveled to the least visited national park in America: Gates of the Arctic. It’s incredibly remote. It’s located in the Arctic Circle!

It took two flights to get to this isolated area where the sun never set. It was so beautiful, fun, and WILD!
