Due to lack of staffing boat rental at The Wiggly Worm will be closed during the week until further notice. Rental is still available Friday, Saturday, and Sunday starting at noon.

We are accepting applications for part time work. Please apply in person, and remember to wear a mask for your own protection and the protection of others.

Boat rental is open from noon until 6pm Friday Saturday and Sunday. We are now accepting applications for a part time position, when that position is filled we will be opening boat rental Wednesday and Thursday as well.

Thank you all for another great summer! The Wiggly Worm is now on winter bait hours. We are open every Friday from 12 noon until sunset. I will be keeping minnows in stock all winter. I just wanted to let everyone know that I have been seeing a lot of these types of swimming aid vests this year. These vests are not approved by the US Coast Guard and therefore are not ok for boating purposes. Approved PFDs will have a label similar to the third picture. Make sure you are buying an approved life saving device if you intend to use it for boating purposes.

It's that time of year again. Please remember that removal of plants animals and fungi from any park designated as a Forest Preserve is illegal. Silver Springs is a state fish and wildlife area and the public is welcome to come forage, so come on down and see what you can find. Then come by The Wiggly Worm after your search and treat yourself to an ice cream cone.

Due to the possibility of snow tomorrow morning I may be opening the bait shop late. The bait machine will be stocked and the shop will open after I finish helping clear snow at Hoover Forest Preserve.

Trout fishing opens Saturday morning at 5am. The wiggly worm will be open and serving pancake breakfast! We will also have bait and tackle available including plenty of minnows.
