Cardboard Boat Race Rescheduled

Yorkville Parks and Recreation Department Staff, along with the IDNR, have been monitoring the water levels along the Marge Cline Whitewater Course throughout the week. Regrettably, in light of the increased water levels of the Fox River following the recent storms, the Fox River has been deemed unsafe for activities at this time. As the safety of our community is our top priority, the Cardboard Boat Races scheduled for Yorkville River Fest this Saturday, July 20, have been postponed.

We are making arrangements to reschedule the Cardboard Boat Races for Yorktoberfest in September. Stay tuned for further updates as they become available.

We appreciate your understanding as we await suitable river conditions with the hope of hosting this unique Yorkville tradition soon.

It's HOT out there!

Summer is heating up, here are a few ways to beat the heat and stay cool!

💦 Stay Hydrated! Make sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.

🩱 Visit the splash pad at Riemenschneider Park (600 Hayden Dr). Cool off and make some memories at the firefighter-themed splash pad at Riemenschneider Park. Activate the water by placing your hand over the fire hydrant.

🌬 Visit one of the Kendall County Cooling Centers. Please note that many of the cooling centers are only available during business hours. We encourage you to call ahead to ensure that the cooling center will be able to receive you.

Save and share the list of cooling centers available at https://bit.ly/KendallCountycoolingcenters
